Wow. I didn’t know all this. I had been wondering what happened to him. He was a hell of a player in Chicago.

I’m glad he’s getting the help he needs. I hope others read this and look for help before their issues get out of hand as well.

Dude wound ball out on this rockets squad.

hope he stays on his current path of understanding.

the only comment in his story that I think should be revised is the “typical black male” comment. Black males certainly aren’t alone in trying to be “manly” and not understanding/appreciating the value of something like therapy or meditation or whatever. I think it’s just human nature. Be tough. Fight through it. Etc.

Earworm, thanks Players Tribune, I'm going to be humming this to myself all week...

For that setup, was expecting something more Tyler Durden-y.

One of the most underrated players ever! Dude was ice cold for a time in the late two 00 and was the best closet alongside Kobe

Damn, another great article. That is definitely crazy stuff and quite sad he got so wrapped up in his mind that he couldn't get out of it and finally disassociated himself from his ego, his image of himself. He uses different words, but this is the basics of what many spiritual teachers talk about. Awareness, we are not our minds, we are the one behind our thoughts. See Eckhart Tolle, Alan Watts, Mooji and such if this has peaked your interest.
