Nash won a ship with the GSW as consultant.

    But one thing.

Did he just admit he listened to doubters and give them the indirect responsibility for him not going farther?

This is one of his biggest shortcomings, not being able to hold people accountable, surely not himself.

It's all koolaid and no critical voices when it comes to what he does. He is almost 70 years old.

Overall the Suns had better personnel, Mike still would be outcoached by Popovich.

Steve Kerr was a disciple of both MDA and Pop.

Lol, ppl around Mike are sour, Kerr did one thing Mike couldn't do, integrate better switch defense with better defensive personnels.

And he learned something from other Offenses, like Princeton offense, with the backdoor cuts, and off the ball movement.

Championships speak volumes. MDA is still a great second.

It's crazy how Kerr basically forced MDA to go big again and then turned around and then proceeded to win MDA's way.

It will not be easy, gave away all our assets.

Still have Eric Gordon contract and 1 first round pick left. But not as hopeful anymore.

That us why I'm keeping any eye out for similar players at lower cost.

    6'10 Jonah Bolden
    6'6 Justin Anderson
    6'3 Tyler Johnson

All 3 are tough defenders and as good or better 3ball shooters. Plus they play high above the rim.

Yeeeep. You definitely reminded me of some things I either forgot or repressed. I agree, his face is punchable AF. He's the most smug little pissant I've witnessed in awhile.

Does D'antoni's offense not include backdoor cuts or off ball movement? I'm asking honestly, I have watched a lot of basketball -- but I find that others are much more aware of plays that are ran (etc) than I am.

No he wouldnt, MDA has never had the talent advantage when playing Popovich, that is straight up not true. To add do that, he would have beaten them if it hadnt of been for Robert Horry cheap shooting Nash.

And...he's had more talent on his squads than either of them.

What? Kerr doesnt even run his defenses, Ron Adams who does it, just like Mike doesnt run the defense, it was Jeff.

The only reason that offense works is because of his personnel, he is playing to the strenghts of his roster(using Mike's offensive sets) just like Mike does with our roster.

His Houston, and Lakers team did not IIRC.

He ran something thru David Lee, and let Carmelo ISO.

    @heypartner

This is a question for him. No other poster on here understands our offense better than he does.

The Suns would have beaten the Spurs if not for Horry’s hip check

its classic group think. "we didn't go far enough"

Yea maybe, but these guys never brought defense up once in that whole video. Its hilarious because the spurs made sport of them year in and out. Hilarious to see the fabois rage over me calling it like it

I know the defense has been a problem wherever D’Antoni goes. But there is a very reasonable argument that the offense dropping off in the playoffs is a bigger issue, or at least one that needs addressing too. In Mike’s last 5 playoff runs (2 with Phoenix, 3 here in Houston) the offensive efficiency has dropped significantly between the regular season and post season - see below.

    Suns 06/07 - 1st in ORtg 113.9
    Suns 07 Playoffs - 2nd 110.6

    Suns 07/08 - 2nd in ORtg 113.3
    Suns 08 Playoffs - 12th 104.1

    Rockets 16/17 - 2nd in ORtg 114.7
    Rockets 17 Playoffs - 7th 110.7

    Rockets 17/18 - 1st in ORtg - 114.7
    Rockets 18 Playoffs - 6th 109.6

    Rockets 18/19 - 2nd in ORtg 115.5
    Rockets 19 Playoffs 110.9

So on average his team has gone from 114.4 offensive rating in the regular season to 109.2 in the playoffs. That’s a 5.2 point dip. I believe that is what he is thinking about when he talks about not going all in. Especially when he is reminiscing with Nash, specifically that 08 season when they traded Marion for Shaq and did a 180 on their style. Thus dropping nearly 10 points in offensive efficiency when it came to the playoffs (and being bounced in 5 in the 1st round).
