I am not sure if many get out or how many know of how hollow the ground is at Rudyard's but let me inform you that Houston does have something happening when it comes to a music scene and this is about as epic as it gets...this show. single frame is from austin off of already gone records ...which is run by adreon..single frame's drummer who despite having his big art opening show this week is still all up for this show cause look it we got kiss kiss kill kill, NTX+ electric, and the entertainment system of houston. i dont even know how to begin to explain the complex luck fateful awesomeness of how such 3 amazing houston bands + this amazing austin band got together for a show one night but this is a show to be at.

its 21+. you guys that are under 21+, i am extremely sorry.
its price should be not over $7 (man we are talking 4 bands here with one driving in from out of town @ Rudyard's w/ the Rudz epic-hollowed ground location, sound, beer selection, food, and pool tables)

I always feel out of place at Rudz without my black fingernail polish and/or my wallet-chain...

You must be confusing Rudyards for Emo's or Lola's. Half of the regulars at Rudz belong to the Montrose Beer and Gun Club. The other half are descendants of the legendary Lexington years. Anyone showing up there with black fingernail polish or wallet-chains is a tourist. Your post sounds like you've never been to Rudz in your life. You should check it out. It's the best bar in Houston. By a mile.

I like the upstairs a lot. The downstairs - not so much.

I'm going to see the Decemberists there on the 15th. Haven't been before, but sounds like a cool enough place.

Wow that brings back memories. I went there about fifteen years ago. Glad to hear it's still around.

Actually, I've been many times. I used to play in a band that played there all the time. One of the best sound systems in the city IMO. Believe me, I've lugged my equipment up and down that back staircase more than I care to remember. :D

To be honest, my impression of Rudz is probably a little tainted because I didn't enjoy playing with the band I was in at the time. I was always a little grumpy when I was there.

Just for my own understanding, you do mean hallowed ground, not hollow? I'd hate for the hollow ground to give way under the place a la Carrie's house.

for some reason i thought hollow ground was sacred as in cemeteries
graves...well pockets of hollow...a misconception I derived at an early age directly from
the movie warlock…the climactic ending? That part. Sorry about that . my education continues…

rudyard’s stage is sort of hollow…being on the 2nd floor and all
