So if we made more shots than they did we would've won? Boy you guys are on the cutting edge of analytics
Like I said before the deadline, no trade can save us this season but we still traded whats left of our future for it. Our shooting vs the Lakers was an anomaly, we're not going to shoot 50% from the 3 every night. We're a below average volume 3pt shooting team, even with Covington.
Great Phoenix and Houston Below Mediocre Knicks Bad Lakers, Nuggets When it's going well, it's going great........
I'm not overly concerned by tonight's loss. Second night of a back to back against a young team .... missing your 2nd best player and nobody could throw it in the ocean besides Harden. Just goes to show how important Westbrook's attacking the paint is
Smallball isn't bad but the best teams can play both styles. If westbrooks is on the floor then small ball it because he is your point center. If he is not then put a bigman with Harden that can play the pick n roll and give him screens. There is no reason why we aren't using every bit in our arsenals. Even the Warriors adjust. They play the Hampton 5 if it is effective. If not they have a couple big men that they can plug and play. One trick ponies don't win.
dude, of course if we had hit more shots and they would’ve missed more it would’ve been closer, u can say that for every team shooting 40% from 3 means we would’ve had to shoot 19-48 from 3 instead of 11-48...we are a mediocre shooting team we got outrebounded 51-29...they had 50 points in the paint So are the Rockets gonna need to shoot like they did against the Lakers in order to overcome being severely undersized? Russ would’ve helped a lot tonight.
you know I’m just wondering what’s going on in hartensteins head right now. Is he feeling dejected? Useless? Upset? Poor hart. Hopefully MDA and moreys dumbasses will Mix it up and implement him even if it’s just 10-13 min a game.
We simply don't have the roster. We aren't the Warriors. We aren't the best team in the NBA. We are simply trying to maximize our one advantage and hope we are hot from 3 in the playoffs. That's all we got.
What's really weird, is we owned the FGA battle. We had significantly more shots on goal ... to use a soccer phrase. And were even on FTAs. I'll take my chances on the Rockets everytime they have significantly more shots on goal. And that was before the G-Leaguers came in and started adding their TOs of confusion to the mix.
Small-ball raises our ceiling, but also lowers our floor. Against teams that are "more talented" than us, it makes sense to go all-in with our smaller lineups. But having a C out there -- Hartenstein/Chandler/buyout C? -- raises our floor and lowers our ceiling. Which means it makes sense to play them more against teams like Phoenix that we should beat. Going all-in on a Russian Roulette offensive strategy is kind of a pointless risk against worse teams, when we can play slightly more conventional ball and likely still win.
AGAIN I ask the question (and no one has responded) WHEN was the last time a”Small Ball Team” has won the championship?
Small ball or playstyle has nothing to do with it. This team is just straight up bad aside from our stars
Really? Because I seem to remember we had a 22 game win streak when we ran small ball when Yao went down.
