Covington is someone we needed. He is a strong defensive player and can hit the outside 3. He is also 6'9 with fast hands. He is exactly what this team has needed. We do however still need a Center. Maybe not a 15 mil 17 mil 18 mil player but we still need a decent rotational big man. Especially when Westbrook sits. Uhhhh Barkley would have thrived in our system. Young charles Barkley. He was like 6'4_6'6 playing power forward. He could run coast to coast. He could rebound... he could body up against other big men because he was just rough and angry. Old Barkley that we got that needed to post up no.
Westbroiok isn't the reason they didn't win a ring. He was pretty damn good even back then. Just look at his play during the Finals run.
I mentioned in the first half that I was glad Westbrook had the ball the most. The Lakers were literally only focused on Harden that game. It was never going to be a game where Harden could get in his flow. I've always said if the support steps up on a consistent basis, we'll beat most teams.
Also, I hope Danuel House brings the same energy the rest of the season. He played great in the first half and was a big reason the game was tied at halftime.
this. this wb is much different than the one coming in who has changed his game. and now this team actually fits together. it didn't before. big difference.
I lost track of how many open shots and 4 on 3s Harden generated for his teammates. Yet some posters think that Harden was the problem. One poster didn't even want Harden to come back in the game lmao.
What's NOT to like??? Wait til he gets more familiar with our system This was just his first game and ad-libbing it out there
Thank you Rockets for stepping up on prime time TV. Played hard and aggressive, knowing you don't have a shot blocker or major rebounder in the paint. The only changes I would like to see is James passing the ball better out of the double team, it's not crisp. Also, attack and split the double team more, which he did a couple of times. Russ, slow down a little bro it will be there, plays much better when he slows his attack in half court...
Hardenbrook averaging 60, wonder if that would be 70 by the end of the year? What’s the all time highest scoring pair of guards on a team?
We can't underestimate that value of that RoCo block from behind on a Davis fadeaway in the lane. That **** gets in a shooters head. Lose your feeling of comfort.
Apparently, what was not quantifiable in his stats with Minn is that RoCo appears to be elite in both on ball and help defense. If he can continue to do that, he could be a poor man's D. Green on defense, but a guy who can actually shoot.
there's levels to this. those are the type of performances you get from someone that's considered an elite defensive wing
