I like Smart but I'd literally die laughing if we traded CC for him, both in terms of value and what we need.

Another guy worth targeting if we're looking to get a C and a SF is Aron Baynes. DeAndre Ayton is back and Baynes is dependable on D and can hit the 3 (as he showed when Ayton was out). If we could get Covington and Baynes for Capela, I'd probably be on board, although neither guy helps our athleticism at all.

And he's wondering why he's paying Morey if all of these other GM's are so excited just to deal with him directly.

Why do I get the feeling that teams will just wait out the Rockets demands until the very end of the deadline when Tillman forces a deal, no matter what, to get under the luxury tax...

We traded Lowry for a draft pick (good trade). Cut Scola outright. Gave away Melton. You never know.

    Robert Covington : 34% on 6.4 3PA
    Marcus Smart : 35% on 6.5 3PA

LOL at Covington being a significantly better defender than Smart.

Unless the backup to your 6-10 starting Center is a 7-1 starting white guy. Love + Stein = RINGS...

Smart shot 36% from the three-point line last year on four attempts a game. This season, he’s at 35% on seven attempts. While he’s unlikely to ever become a 40% three-point shooter, there’s no reason to think he can’t maintain a percentage around 35-36%.

Nah... Covington is better. He can guard more positions.

wouldn’t be surprised at all if Covington came here and started tossing up bricks...that seems to be the destiny for all of our shooters

Smart is definitely more versatile, but yeah, either one will help a lot

I don’t trust smart, it’s cool if you do. The Cs aren’t trading him though.

Nah. CC is underrated here. Smart is underrated here. Cov is overrated here. (Crowder is 85% as good, e. g.)
