Clutch, I do not know if this is the right forum.., but I put it here because of the connection to Clyde and Hakeem

While Chaney has no Final Four appearances, Guy V has five, along with two champioship games.....are you kidding me.

According to Bob Kemp, Chaney should give a big thanks to Dickie Vitale for years and years of high praise.

Both coaches have 30 years of experience, but Chaney gets in?

Chaney's admission only strengthens Lewis's case.

I still say had that NC State basket not been tipped in, Guy Lewis would be in the Hall of Fame right now. It is sad, that something so sad and painful for UohH fans to remember could effect Guy Lewis's selection into the Hall.

damn that slop shot must of sucked for UofH fans. [IMG]

I hate when people downplays a man's success to build up another guy. Definitely those guys should be in the Hall-of-Fame, but so should John Chaney. He might not have been to a Final Four or won a national championship, but he took an unknown Temple program and turned it into a national contender year-in and year out, winning tons of games, getting to numerous Elite Eights, and inventing a new defense, his version of the zone defense. It wasn't like he went to Duke, or North Carolina, or Ohio State or UCLA, and went to a big time conference and dominated, he went to an unknown school and turned them into a national contender practically every year he has been there. And it was more then Dick Vitale praising him that made Chaney a legend.

Just a note. Guy V wasn't inducted because he wasn't nominated. You can't be upset that he wasn't inducted when the HOF Commitee couldn't even consider him this time. However, from what I hear he will be nominated next year.
