I can't help but wonder how Boki would have played in the Suns game. I know this could go into the game thread, but I'd like to bring up some other points that relate otherwise.... From what little I've seen of Boki, he is a very good entry passer into Yao. He knows his role, doesn't look to jack up shots, plays aggressive defense, good rebounder, can't possible turn the ball over any more than our current starters, and can block a shot or two. Heck, when he drives the lane, he has a good chance of getting to the hoop, or dishing the rock. I'd venture to say that he wouldn't allow every freaking pass to be slapped, deflected, picked off........ He wants playing time, and if given the chance, do any of you actually think he'd go outside of his role, and endanger his playing time? I'd say........NO. The Suns game was a prime example of our perimeter numbskulls believing that the game would be easily won, and the overdribbling was abundant. Lo and behold, when the lead vanished, the team played differently. The ball made it's way back inside, if it wasn't picked off. Too little, too late. Panic passes. Bah! JVG needs to make a statement. Bench somebody. Give Boki more playing time. If we are going to develop the kid, we have to start sometime. .........emotion induced rant.........off..............
His only problem is he's paying too much attention of himself. He thinks that everyones watching him. Ok, let me make it short. no self-confidence.
that's why whenever he's on the floor for a short time, he needs to give his 101%. You know they do practice and based from his performance there, he's assessed if he's ready or not.
I'm pretty he gives it his all. No self-confidence leads to thinking too much which leads to mistakes.
Confidence. Exactly. Remember when Yao was limited to playing only 1 quarter until he had that great game against the Lakers? He went from being a backup, 1 quarter a game guy, to being the starter, and he's Rocketed up from there. Yao went from being the new kid in school to being the teacher. His confidence is high, and it shows. It's hard to get that when you are on the bench all the time, especially having to witness crap play from the guys in front of you...imagine that......
Come now, gentlemen. Everybody know Boki is being saved as the rookie we need for next year. since we won't have a first rounder in the 2004 draft.
From what I saw, Boki definitely deserve some playing time and I don't understand why JVG haven't give him a chance. He's a solid guy that can contribute and I saw some potential in him that he can be a nice player that can hit the J or drive, and he makes pretty good decision with the ball and he have that bball sense in terms of know what to do at the time. Get Boki in! NOW
Boki should be on rotation and it does'nt matter if he plays 10 to 15 min. as long as he build some confidence. To be honest, I preferred to see Boki over Griffin!
i would also like to see boki play but he is in JVG doghouse. Where that picture of boki and the dog house.
Im tired of the He's the Draft pick for next year, and then we go out and get E. piatkowski, and A. Griffin, and JJ. It did good for us right now, but these aren't exactly players, save griff, that are getting younger. BOki is young and just needs another chance, I say after we lock ourselves into the playoffs, watch for some Boki minutes...
We should just do what Dallas did with Jiri Welsch - package him as a throwaway in a trade and allow him to blossom somewhere else.
Boki is playing behind a guy averaging about 50 minutes a night. That's JJ and Griffin and sometimes Cat. Is there a place for Boki on this squad? Will he be playing in Boston next season? I wish I knew.
I agree that Boki should be getting more minutes. I remember when he was a regular in JVG's rotation in the middle chunk of the season. Let's not dny the fact that he was given a big chance in the preseason playing like 40 minutes a night. I know that he could do more than What Griffin does. The last game I saw him play was against the Washington Wizards. I remember he scored 8 points in the 4th including a nice drive and finish at the bucket. I would hate to to see Boki go somewherelse and shine. Maybe there's alot of stuff that we dont see. We only see these guys 48 minutes everyother night. OH Yeah, Scott Padgett should play more too!!!
and actually get the ball! sometimes he's open and they just swing the ball around and avoid him. the guy can shoot. give him the friggen ball once in a while!
The Offense opens up so much more when Padgett is in the game. He gets great looks at 3's. I know that Cato brings alot of intensity to the team, but he's just such a huge liabilty on offense. You can only run that alley oop play so much. Taylor makes up for Cato's offense, but doesn't have the intensity night in and out. If we had to get a PF that could fit JVG's system and open up the offense, who would ya'll want? Shareef Abdur Raheem doesnt seem to like Portland too much. He's still young and has been a 20, 10 guy throughout his career. If he came to H-town he would be a 2nd or 3rd option. With us he would probably be around 17ppg,8rpg. The only problem I'd see is too many scorers in the starting lineup. This is a dream, but if we had.. Francis/Jackson/Nachbar/Raheem/Yao and then have Mobley off the bench, this would be crazy. I want us to draft a pass first PG in the draft to take over for Mark Jackson. Chris Duhon comes to mind. The Rockets just really need depth. Too many guys are playing 40+ a night.
He is 15th draft of 2002. Why JVG doesn't give him time to develop? Peja, 14th draft of 1996, got 21.4 mpg in his rokie year.
