Come on. Do you think smaller guy can defend big fellow? It is unfair to judge player's denfense as they mismatched.
Yao tends to disappear late in games? How? By scoring 16 pts in the 4th quarter last night? By putting away the Dallas game with 5 pts at the end? Don't use last year's games as a benchmark for how Yao plays in clutch situations. If you've seen him the past two months, you'd know he's a much better player now.
Kobe makes a lot of clutch shots, but the guy also misses a lot of them too. I can't remember how many games where he's tried to take over by playing selfishly and ended up shooting himself in the foot and alienating his teammates in the process. Kobe gets a lot of glory for making last minute shots, but if he played under control for 48 minutes and fed the ball to Shaquille consistently, the last second heroics wouldn't be necessary.
without a doubt it's gotta be Kobe. he has proven for over 3 yrs (not 2 months like Yao) that he can SINGLE handedly take over a game offensively. And on defense he can shut down any guard or SF if he wants to.
I wouldn't take Tim or Shaq since they can't hit free throws very well.........if you are considering the final moments of a game, where a foul may be inevitable.
bull****. don't blatantly make up stuff when we all know what he did in dallas, atlanta and against the suns. He shot 6/6 in the last game. What he faded ??? go check how many offensive boards he had in the 4th. same goes with the other 2 games i mentioned. those are the most recent that i remember
KG and Kobe because these guys can get their own shot. They don't rely on someone else to get them the ball. Shaq and Yao have to rely on someone to get them the ball when they are open. Kobe can take the ball and get his own.
Assuming all those things you provided, I would want to get Yao the ball if he's not tired out by then. Yao is pretty much a unstoppable player, with the ball in his hand, he can shoot, drive, dunk, pass or try to draw fouls and he is a good free throw shooter. He has good repoirto of moves to get his points. He can do those amazing passes even in his move to the hoop. Remember that game on TV, when Yao was spinning toward the basket, and he's about to do a hook shot and just before he released the hook, he passed the ball right to Francis with a hook pass. Don't want Tim Duncan because I don't worry too much about his jump shot, and he's prone to miss free throws especially late in the game.
Something that has puzzled me for a long time: How can Tim Duncan, being one of the best fundamental players and the league's best player and reigning MVP, shoot FTs at such a low percentage? I just don't understand this at all... isn't shooting free throws one of the easiest things to do in Basketball? SS999
