I hate Dallas most and Utah is right there.
I dont hate Spurs, even though they whipped us good each and every time. How can anybody hate Duncan?

this is bullsh!t. amare suckamire got dunk of the nite on NBA Fastbreak. I am convinced that ESPN got some kind of bias against Yao. I mean every time some guy scores a bucket on Yao those idiots gotta rub it in. they didnt even show the pay back facial Yao gave Suckamire, which was more "in your face".

    Ditto to Summer Song Giver.

Did I miss a meeting? What is up with the Amare hate? Is this just because of the ROY thing or did he actually do something? I'm honestly asking. I don't get to see most of the games anymore since moving from Houston so maybe I just missed something.

If this is just because he picked up ROY last year, that is insane. He's a great player (amazing for his age) and he plays a clean game. Seems like people want to turn him into Karl Malone or something. The game thread's unreadable and the chat was too, with all the outrageous and -- to the best of my knowledge -- unfounded hating.

I'm not especially an Amare fan, but geez. People were cheering in chat when Steve threw him that cheap forearm. And it was cheap. What was the justification? That he yelled after he made his first dunk out of like 10 attempts? Steve was offended by that? From a second year player? Steve??? In SF's second year if you asked me to guess which player made his first dunk in 10 attempts and then yelled at the crowd to celebrate, I wouldn't have to guess who it was, I would know. It would have been Steve Francis. And if somebody would have thrown a shot at him for it, the board would be up in arms for a year and I would too. That was terrible.

I love Steve to death, but he should have been kicked for that, not cheered.

And chatters (probably posters too - I seriously can't read that thread) acted like the refs were giving fouls away. We were fouling him! It was a good strategy too, since he has a harder time at the line than in the post. And it was also the reason his FG% was so low. People couldn't decide to hate by saying the refs were against us or by saying he couldn't make a shot. Neither was true. We were fouling.

I'm happy to say I barely hate anyone in the league anymore, now that Pippen's done and Malone's been injured most of the year. Still keep that blackhearted fire burning for Sloan but there's not a single active player I actively hate. There are some tough matchups or rivalries like Dallas, SA, LA, Seattle, Memphis and Phoenix, but I love those games. They're the most exciting ones. I don't hate those teams and I definitely don't hate their players (except Malone). They just haven't done anything to deserve it. Have any of them seriously disrespected us or done us wrong like Scottie? Do any of them play seriously dirty or cheat like the old Jazz? Does Amare do any of those things? Cause I'm pretty sure he doesn't.

Some of you people are amazing. Yao's dunk was NOT more "in your face" (it wasn't, it wasn't, it wasn't, it just wasn't) and it was hardly a facial. I personally don't care what's on the highlight reels and I don't care who gets how many facials. It's a style thing and this team is trying to get away from that stuff. Two points is two points. I do wish Yao would dunk a little more because he'd get more respect from his opponents than with his soft touch layups, but I couldn't care less who gets on ESPN. Yao's a million times the star Amare is, by any account, and if Amare gets those nasty dunks, of course they're going to be on highlight reels. That's what highlight reels are made of.

I can't even believe you said Yao's dunk was more in your face. That is truly amazing.

I agree with you on most of things. Steve should calm down a little bit.

    But not this one
Amare is a great player? I simply don't think so. His stats is good, but HIs decision making is horrible. He is simply not a smart player.

I lost respect for Amare after seeing an interview of him in NBA action towards the end of last season. He was asked what was his most memorable moment of the season, and he said Yao falling over in a Suns vs Rockets game, and he went on saying how funny that was etc etc... that was class-less, even if he is a good player.

What Steve did wasn't right, but I do respect him for sticking up for his team mate, props to Amare for not retaliating but that kind of showboating is gonna get you some attention in the first place.

    -G'day-

"Sticking up for his teammate?" Yao got dunked on. That's all. He didn't get fouled hard, he didn't get fouled at all. He got dunked on and Amare yelled -- not at Yao but at the crowd -- to celebrate. He didn't need defending. I can't believe how many people are saying this stuff. It's insane. I guess every time somebody dunks then yells the other team should hit him to defend the guy that got dunked on. That'll be fun.

Probably just me but if the Rockets would have been more focused on inbounding the ball quickly they could turn Amare's celebrations into a 5 on 4 break...uptempo on made baskets and to defeat a trap before it gets set...what a novel idea...it may have won the game in which case no one would give a leap what Amare said to a reporter.

LOL. How many airballs AS shot against Yao? At least 6 or 7, lots of those missed shots were not even close.

Those 2 dunks were great. But AS was guarded by Padgett not Yao (for those two dunks to happen), and Yao dunked twice over AS later and returned the favor.

I don't care about the dunks anyway, but last night Yao totally outplayed AS on both ends of the floor 29-19-6 vs. 24-15-4. And if you look at efficiency, Yao got 44 and AS 21.

    It was not even close.

Amare obviously doesn't like the fact Yao has gotten so much attention, especially since he won the rookie of the year, not Yao. He's only human. Yao's got mad endorsements; Apple, Sorrent, McDonald's, Reebok, Gatorade, Pepsi; and he's probably doing TV commercials for a used car lot in Scottsdale. It would impossible for him not to jealous.

The reason we like Yao is because he's the exact opposite of most NBA players (like Amare). He's humble and well-spoken. Maybe if Amare worked on his interview skills he'd have less reason to be jealous of Yao. I like Yao becaue he doesn't get caught up in all this macho NBA bull****. Yao don't respond to a facial or hard foul or whatever by losing his cool, getting technicals, and hurting their team over the long haul. He responds by making boring baskets. Players who get angry more often than not end up hurting their team in the long haul.

Two points is two points. Doesn't matter if it's a spectacular facial or a boring fadeaway, it all counts the same. Let Amare get the Sportscenter highlights. Who cares? I'll take consistent and high percentage jump hooks and fadeaways any day of the week. Highlights don't win games. Consistent (and some would say boring) play wins games. The Lakers have had one of the most predictable offenses in the league over the past five years. Same could be said for the Spurs.

Yao's dunk really brought the Houston crowd to its feet.

Say what you will about Amare, but I wish Yao had 1/2 of his aggression. Yao may be the superior player, but Amare really uses his strength to his advantage down low.

    :D

even though that screen shot was a half a second before they get a chance to react, damn it shows you how our crowd sucks...bunch of rich uptight white collar fans....there's no passion, no fire...a bunch of passive politically correct bandwagoners watching in the expensive seats...

Yao got dunked on because he's trying to help out on two occasions. Amare got dunked on because he's simply not strong enough to hold Yao. Who's got the better end of that?

Instead of hating on Amare, think instead how great it would be if we could partner him with Yao in the frontcourt. Amare still needs work on defense and it would be good if he had an automatic jumper from midrange, but in many ways, he's perfect for our starting PF - aggressive, active around the basket, the size and agility to adequately guard any big man, intimidating weakside defender, and a killer work ethic. I would trade Steve for Amare and a pure point guard.

So would the Rockets... but the Suns aren't stupid.
