I just have one question. What player is out there for us to get to make us a contender for the playoffs? Let me know H-town.
sorry but the rockets won't be acquiring anyone significant this year. the only hope is again some buy out candidate shaking loose but the rockets are definitely still missing a versatile 3 and D wing capable of playing big minutes and a suitable backup for PJ. those holes are glaring
that's anyone's guess. you obviously need a bit of luck like how the rockets got lucky with rivers and for a brief period of time faried these don't always work out either as we've seen over the years
It's too bad that we don't have the assets or cap space to acquire anyone like that. When we had the opportunity to add players like that that(Oubre, JGreen, Temple, JGrant) we passed. We have to start thinking smaller. Kief Morris, Dario Saric, Harry Giles types. types. Or as many posters have stated, the old buy out market. Maybe we can get lucky and a real baller can shake loose from somewhere.
Realistically, someone who will be the 6th best player on this squad. We’re not getting anyone better than our starters (minus our small forward) or EG. So someone better than House or Ben would be a pretty positive sign. Or a power forward.
A big wing is what we need, even better if he one who can play small ball 5. Covington really fits what we need, i have my doubts on him at the 5, but that would not be the norm, and it's not like we can get a JaMaychal Green anyway so... I also wonder, couldn't we trade like 3/4 players for one making around 8/9M and trade that player with picks for Rob?
How do we acquire what we need to acquire for the playoffs? I just have one question. How are we going to acquire that one potential player that is out there for us to get to make us a contender for the playoffs? HTine hol it dine.
This was made a before the season. The dude was right about Howard and Iggy. He also accurately predicted the playing time situation for Turner in ATL. I don't love any of these options. Crabbe maybe.
Which addition would D'Antoni give minutes to in his notoriously tight playoff rotation? Has to be a multi-year vet, obviously, and likely someone he previously coached. I'd say: Robert Covington. 7-season veteran who was on the 76ers when D'Antoni was an assistant there.
Use the trade exception from the Brandon Knight trade to get Markieff Morris. Throw in a 2nd rounder if need be. This benefits both teams (Detroit getting further away from paying the luxury tax; Houston getting a starting PF or a 7th man at worst).
