Everyone needs those players, and they all make significant amounts of money.

Many teams wishing they had Russ/Harden/Clint too...

You simply can’t have everything. This isn’t NBA2K.

Of course I understand this, you have to give to get.

And I dont have time for NBA2K, when not watching or playing ball, I spend time with loved ones.

Good stuff! I am all on board with this @ApacheWarrior. Fully agree that Rockets need long athletic lock down defenders to surround Harden & WB.

Rockets were at their best when they could roll out 3 wings that could play 3/4/5 depending on matchup. Plus with 2 of the 3 on floor it was an organic load management.

But have to give to get. Harden is untouchable, so is Russ this season. Capela is having a stellar season with most 20 rebound games of career and leading West in boards (2nd in NBA). Clint would be All Star in East IMO, his value is at its highest.

    http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=vkulfl4

BOS: Capela, Augustin, House, Thabo, Nene, Frazier

    ORL: Hayward, Edwards, Tyson

    HOU: AGordon, Bamba, RWilliams, Iwundu

All 3 teams receive value without giving up FRP.

Celtics get their starter & top rebounding defensive 5, vet def PG in Augustin and more wing depth (House, Thabo).

Magic get coveted All Star scorer wing, younger offensive minded backup point, vet 5. Franchise player J Isaac can also transition full time to natural 4 spot.

Rockets upgrade 4 spot (move Tucker to SF) and small ball 5. Add 7'0 lottery pick Mo Bamba (7'9 wingspan) and 6'10 Lob Williams (7'6 wingspan) to replace Capela. 6'7 Wes Iwundu (7'1 wingspan) to back up Tucker.

Sign 6'10 Ray Spalding or 6'8 Kenny Wooten to 10 day.

Trade Harty and cash for 6'10 Harry Giles.

    Harden/EGo
    Russ/Rivers/Clemons
    Tucker/Iwundu/Howard
    AG/Giles
    Bamba/Williams/Wooten

I have loved Clint since he was a rookie and thought one day he could be a superstar. As much as I'd hate to lose him it's either him or EG. It's easier to find a cheap center than a stud forward. Well have to develop ihart and let him play stretch 5 while we find another one...clints value is probably at his highest so it's the right business move. We need to get one really good forward or two rotation pieces. And just play small like the Celtics do.

As great as Clint is against certain matchups, he's bad against certain teams and is replaceable. Since he can't always finish Russ' dumpoffs we might as well give him more room in the paint for james and Russ to drive and kick.

We have the best guard rotation and the worst forward rotation in the NBA.

I can live with the size of:

    Capela
    Tucker
    House
    Harden
    Westbrook

Tucker is the only clearly undersized person here, while Harden and Westbrook are big for their position. House is not more inconsistent than any 5th lest consistent player on an NBA champion. It's magnified in our eyes. You're not going to have 5 highly consistent players.

However, for times when the other team is murdering us with a big forward, we have nothing to go to as a backup. Especially against the Lakers, we are going to need to slide a bigger guy in at the 4 and slide Tucker to the 3 for long stretches.

We have the inverse covered where you swap House for Gordon and go small.

It's not that they refuse to address it, but that they intentionally planned it. They strategically decided to go 5 big salaries (Harden, Westbrook, Gordon, Capela, and PJ) and fill the rest of the team with minimums when they lost the Ariza/Kelly Oubre roster spot and lost the Ryno/Shumpert spot and gave away draft picks in the process and didn't added salary via the CP3 trade or MLE.

Davis Bertans salary is 7 mil.

I’d include thabo and nene in the deal and top 20 protected first.

0.13m to reach tax, the most important thing.

Adjust this trade to include MIN:

WAS: House, Nene, Tyson, Rockets FRP

    MIN: Bertrans, Thaboa

    HOU: Covington

Right. So last season it was very doable - trade Knight/Chriss for JamGreen/ Temple

How do you do it now without major changes? Give us an owner TODAY willing to go deep into tax and he still has jump minimums to trade...

In Houston's system no offensively and he is not a great defender of either front court position yet.

I love PJ Tucker but I wish he was a situational bench player now, not a 40-minutes muncher.
He is so good at defensive assignments, and changes games that way. He is not who you want in a spaced, D'Antoni offense for 40 minutes.

House has lost me. McLemore is a solid backup and Gordon can rotate in, but this team is one or two Artests/Battiers/Arizas/Moutes away from being battle-ready again.

They can, but they'd have to implement an entirely different defensive and offensive system to make it effective. So they won't.

Great supporting arguments from Apache Warrior with a breakdown.

This is interesting, when I have free time I'll analyze the interior defensive points to see if I fully agree or disagree.

Gallinari isn't better than Tucker. He is a better scorer but seems to have played only 50% of his career games. So divide that scoring in half and factor in no defense and PJ comes out better
