Last Saturday, I stayed up 'till 2 a.m just to war The Jerk, Too on cable. I had no idea that a sequel to the funniest movie ever made even existed. Then realized that is becasue it was hoooorrrible . Below is the movie synopsis from MSN Enterainment. The only actor that returns from the original is the woman that plays Navin's mother. My friend told me that Mark Blankfield is the guy who played the waiter on Saved by the Bell. Whatever. The Jerk, Too Comedy, 1hr 40min Mark Blankfield, Ava Cadell, Lainie Kazan ...more Navin Johnson, the consummate idiot, returns in this remake of Steve Martin's popular 1979 film The Jerk. As in the first, Johnson, the lily white adoptee of a black sharecropper sets out across the country in search of true love. This version was designed as a pilot for a TV series that never materialized. ~ Sandra Brennan, All Movie Guide This got me thinking about other forgotten movies. I can't remember the last time I saw Crossroads with Ralph Macchio, or Hero at Large with John Ritter. TURK 182 used to come on a lot too. These weren't that bad. Where did they go?
All I need is the last 10 min's of this movie. Steve Vai vs. Steve Vai guitar battle makes for a pretty good sound track. The rest of that movie blew chunks. I can't believe I even watched it considering Ralph Macchio starred in it.
That is a great flick. I've been trying to find a copy of "Rockula". It has the guy from "Summer School", Dean Cameron as a vampire that starts a band, and it has Thomas Dolby, Bo Diddley, and Toni Basil in it. Potentially the best bad movie ever.
Krush Groove! -from Dogma, 1999 Or perhaps CHUD, about the cannibalistic underground dwellers. Cool flick. Or how about the Fog?
Anybody ever seen Rubin and Ed, starring Crispin Glover and Howard Hessman. Genius! "My cat can eat a whole watermelon!"
Did anyone ever see "Megaforce"? Flying motorcycles, tanks, dune buggies, Barry Bostwick with a huge feathery mullet...truly a cinematic masterpiece.
Right you are Ken. And on some episodes of "The Love Boat" and "Fantasy Island" What was the name of that Swamp movie with Heather Locklear? Yowza, she looked awfully good in that movie.
I don't mean to be a smartass about it, but hearing about that ending when I was younger, and how the solos devolved into this (to me) wanky classical Floyd Rose thing instead of sticking with the blues -- that's why I haven't bothered to rent 'Crossroads' yet.
They never actually made it, but i'm sure it would have qualified for the forgotten movie thread. This is funny and very scary at the same time. ______________________________ Hot Rod Here’s a film that could have knocked “Gigli” off the worst-flicks lists: Michael Jackson wanted to star in a movie about a man who turns into a car that’s driven around by a little boy. The singer — who’s facing child molestation charges — was trying to get a film called “Hot Rod” made, according to “Jersey Girl” director Kevin Smith. “It was about Michael Jackson morphing into a car,” “Smith tells Playboy magazine in an issue just hitting newsstands. “Jackson was behind it, and he wanted it to be this story about a guy, played by himself, who hangs out with a little boy, and this little boy gets into the car and drives him around.” Smith says it was the weirdest script he ever was asked to direct, but adds, “In retrospect, I’d love to make that movie. But it wouldn’t be anything like the version Jackson or the studio wanted to see.” http://msnbc.msn.com/id/4500364/
The Coca-Cola Kid, 1985, with Greta Scacchi, Eric Roberts, Bill Kerr and Tim Finn... who also does a great job with the music. An Australian film with one of the hottest babes on the planet, Greta, busy being funny and hot! Also one of Roberts best roles, and he's very funny as well. I love it. Just hilarious. Directed by Dusan Makavejev.
YES! I remember that movie vividly...I have no idea why. Something about a motorcycle flying out of the back end of a C130 or something like that.. Movies that I have seen and watch whenever I can catch them: Corvette Summer Kentucky Fried Movie Amazon Women on the Moon Flash Gordon( complete with a choice Queen soundtrack) Movies that I have seen and and havent seen ever again: The Adventures of Buckaroo Bonzai Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl o Rama Toxic Avenger I always was a sucker for cheesy scifi and psuedo horror flicks.
