Probably because it is in Chicago and they always want someone to represent the city...only thing is the Bulls suck and don't deserve all-stars so I guess people are picking Rose to do so since it is his hometown and he's the last relevant Bulls superstar really. That's not why. It's because he has a gigantic following in China to boost the little support he gets in the NBA as a former MVP. His jersey and sneaker is always in the top 10 IIRC.
