Amare is a tough matchup for us but he's not the type of difference maker his stats might indicate. I'd really like Yao to show up tonight and take it to them from the start. I know Steve is going to play hard and tough. I think we'll win. Our guys have that fire in them.
Yao will be pumped up for this game because he is still mad about Amare stealing the ROY from him Rockets win 109-87 Yao 32 points 12 reb
The Suns scare me a bit because of how physical they are. You can always find a reason to be worried, I guess, but they do seem to have good games against us.
Still the no.1 defense in the league. Rox 92 Phoenix 76 Rox - 48% shooting Phoenix - 37.4% Amare will get his, but Yao will get more. Steve should dominate. No question. 6 games and counting...
I'm generally somewhat cautious-pessimistic before any game, but this game I feel extremely positive about winning. Phoenix plays ZERO defense, the lane will be wide open for Steve, Cat and JJ to drive to the basket. Yao probably won't have a "monster" game since he'll likely be fronted/double-teamed, but he'll end up around his averages or a bit higher, anywhere between 18/9 to 22/11, and he'll contribute several clutch, difference-making plays down the stretch as he usually does. Amare will NOT score 20 because, unlike the Suns, we DO play defense: we'll have a big body on him with Cato, and if he manages to do his whirling dervish thing and spin past Cato, Yao will still be back there to block/change his shots. I worry more about the Matrix getting hot and nailing a bunch of his ugly-looking jumpshots from behind the arc. Otherwise, I predict a relatively easy victory much like the Hornets game, where we pull out to an 8-10 point lead by halftime, withstand a couple of runs in the 3rd and 4th quarters but basically maintain control from start to finish: final score, 97-85, Rockets win AGAIN.
Amare will absolutely make 25+. Because in the 4Q, all of the Rox starters will be on the bench looking the antic dancing. Rox win 120:80.
No way Rockets lose to Sun today Rockets: 108 Sun: 72 Amare will play 40+ minutes, padding his stats to 23 in the garbage time(+13 points) while all Rockets starters sitting on bench.
Good news guys. I guess. A group of the Suns Players came by the club last night to party. The ones to take note on where Amare and Howard Eisley. Antonio Mydyess and James Posey were there as well. I guess the Grizz haven't left yet since posey was still there. Good thing i have to say i didn't see any of the big Name Rockets players i usually see on their off nights. The good news is that Amare was drinking his butt off, at one point had 2 Moet bottles in his hand so hopefully he will feel the effects later tonight when we play them, Saw Eisley drinking a bit but was more macking on girls. Well the rest of the guys...don't really matter. lol
Detroit's defense (held opponents under 70 5 games in a row) is making ours look like Charmin. Time to step it up a notch and hold them under 60.
