    Get your NCAA bracket here.

Good luck. We're all counting on you.

The West region is a joke.

Meaning the Stanford bracket? Looks pretty tough to me:

Syracuse, Maryland, NC State, UConn, Vanderbilt, Alabama.

I think the St. Joe's region is a joke.

UConn and Stanford are good, NC State is alright too - other than that? Maryland as a four is ridiculous, Syracuse is fortunate to get a five and Vandy as a six doesn't even deserve comment.

you mean the phoenix region Pued. remember, we've renamed the regions for no apparent reason. those directional names just weren't cutting it. city specific names like east rutherford flow so much better.

man, i hadn't really looked at any region except atlanta, which is extremely tough (and yay, texas gets to be in that one), but damn the west sucks. standford, uconn, then nothing.

The top half of St Joe's bracket is weak, but the bottom of that bracket is death.

Ok State, Pitt, Wisconsin(as a 6?) AND Memphis? Put some of those teams out West, and even things out a bit.

I can't wait. I'm predicting Wisconson to win the whole thing. Hopefully they will prove me right like Syracuse did last season.

I'm glad my Texas Tech made the tourney. I feel they have a decent chance at getting to the sweet 16. I know nothing about Charlotte but I'm just assuming they can take them. Than they would play St Joes. They matchup well with them I like their chances with them. After that its going to be tough. But thats why they play the games.

Wisconsin is OVERRATED. I'm not going to argue their seeding, but the only teams that stand out in that bracket are OK State, Pitt, and St. Joe's. Florida is vulnerable and I don't see Texas Tech getting past Charlotte.

The Phoenix region has a higher caliber of teams in my opinion. Maryland has been phenomenal lately, UConn could've been a No. 1, Vanderbilt is pretty good, and the Wolfpack are great. Then Syracuse hasn't played that strong without Edelin, but McNamara and Warrick are a decent 1-2 combo. And then you got Alabama with the toughest schedule in the nation at 17-12 with 5 of those losses by 5 points or less.

I understand why some would think otherwise, especially considering there is a Big XII bias on this board.

Wisconsin is not only not overrated, they'd smoke any of the teams in the West Regional except for Stanford and UConn if they played right now.

Maryland had a nice run in the ACC tourney, but they also finished 7-9 in conference. A four seed for that? Surely you jest.

Vandy finished 8-8 in conference, a six seed? come on.

NC State is alright, and Syracuse is iffy without Edelin, because McNamara is their only shooter. Compared to the other regions, this one is a cakewalk for the top two seeds.

pued.. you can say what you want about them.. but the seeding of vandy is only slightly high if high.. i saw bracket predictions having them at the 7 seed before the miss state win..

as one of the few people on here who have seen the majority of their games.. if they are on there are very few teams that they can not beat.. if they are hot I can see them pulling off an upset..

a top 30 rpi.. wins over kentucky, miss st etc.. a top 25 ranking quite a bit of the year... will get you a 6 seed.. and the miss st wasn't really a fluke because the week before they lost by 3 to them...

their road record was horrid. I admit that. actually most of their losses were to teams they should not have lost to which is irritating.. When playing up to par they are actually quite impressive though. A 6 seed may have been a little high yes, but I don't think it was that high..

I dont think Wisconsin is overrated at all...in fact I have them pulling an upset over Pittsburg in the second round.
What do you guys think of Washington? I think they have a chance at upsetting Kentucky in the second round.

Okay, granted it was 'early' in the year but they were ranked 15:
    12/30 Alabama at No. 15 Wisconsin W 71-56

When I meant I'm not going to argue the seeding, I meant it in the way that the seedings are questionable. But who would you put in Maryland's or Vanderbilt's place? The only defense for Maryland is that the selection committee saw them as the toughest team in the nation, currently. I completely disagree with a No. 4 seed, but that certainly played well when it counted. What has always pissed me off with the NCAA is that they put the low-major conference champs at the lower seeds. Sure they aren't the Dukes of college basketball, but how are they given a fair chance when they are seeded against teams in the first round like, well, Duke? I, personally, would like to see more evenly dispersed teams. The bias for a major conference team such as UCLA or Arizona or North Carolina (using team brands in general) is obvious; the farther a better-known team gets, the more viewers they get which translates into more $$$. It's the same theory as the BCS; Tulane or TCU will never win the National Championship in football and any team in small conference (tourney champs like Pacific and Alabama State) won't ever be given a 'fair' chance even though they technically have an 'equal' chance.

Bahh, I'll still enjoy watching it though!:)

Well, I don't know how much of an upset that is being how the game will be played in Milwaukee, and Wisconsin is practically invincible in their home state. I am still debating who to pick in that game.

Washington is tough, but I still think they are just benefitting from a weak Pac 10. However, I guess their close game at NC St. should show that they are a quality team. The bracket is so balanced, I feel any team between 5 and 9 in seeds are all the same, really. Just look at teams like Charlotte, Zona and Louisville seeded 8 or lower!

Pitt really got the short end of it. They won the most games in D1 and end up with a third seed.

Utah is going down. Go BC!!!

I'm okay with Pitt as a #3, but having to play Wisconsin in Wisconsin in the second round, WTF??

Yeah, 2 years ago, Pitt played 2 games in Pittsburgh, but they were the better seed in those games.

Providence may have to play Kansas in Kansas City. North Carolina plays Air Force in Colorado.

Does CBS really need to put a 10 second delay on college basketball?

    http://sports-att.espn.go.com/ncb/ncaatourney04/news/story?id=1760236

College basketball fans won't be able to celebrate a team's victory in this year's NCAA Tournament's Final Four the instant it happens.

Officially, they'll have to wait 10 seconds.

According to The New York Times, CBS has decided to employ a 10-second delay during the Final Four in San Antonio as a result of increased criticism and financial penalties levied by Congress and the Federal Communications Commission in the wake of Janet Jackson's stunning breast-baring incident during the Super Bowl halftime show.

CBS executive vice president Martin Franks told The Times that while the network "has yet to determine if it will be able technically to install some form of delay to its coverage of the earlier rounds" of the NCAA Tournament, the network "would like to."

Franks told The Times that the network also plans to institute at least a five-second delay for on-field interviews in NFL games this season. He offered Shaquille O'Neal's recent profanity-laced, postgame television interview as an example for why the move is necessary. Franks said such a tirade is "something we simply can't have at this point."

CBS also is considering hiring additional executives for its standards department, an approach Fox has already taken, to help handle delays.

Complaints about decency and calls for improved controls over live content have been on a steady rise since the Jackson-Justin Timberlake duet at the Super Bowl ended with Timberlake snatching off part of Jackson's bustier on stage, revealing a breast clad only in a sun-shaped "nipple shield" to some 89 million viewers.

Jackson's spokeswoman, Jennifer Holiner, said a red lace garment was supposed to remain when Timberlake tore off the outer covering.

Last week, the House of Representatives approved a bill to increase fines for broadcast violations from $27,500 to $500,000 a violation, with a maximum penalty of $3 million, The Times reported.

Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.
