With today's win the Rockets assure themselves to finish ahead of Phoenix. We knock out five more teams and we are in the playoffs!
I agrre with you, but you know, "it aint over till it's over". For example, If something happened to JVG tomorrow and the Rockets decided to sign George Karl, I am sure he would find a way to miss the playoffs
How sweet it would be for Rockets to finish 4th and Laker 5th, and Rockets ends Malone and Payton's pipe dreams for a ring right there!
That would be sweet, but the this is the first time in the Playoffs for all the Rockets save Mobley, and maybe spoon... The Lakers know what it takes, and barring jail time for KOBE, they should take any series easily, especially against say a Memphis or a Houston.
I agree as much as weve owned Lakers in teh regular season, Im not exactly pushing to play them. I think it would be a great an monumental series, but it would be VERY Tough with their experience as players adn working the refs come playoffs.
Kobe is gonna miss 2 games in the first round due to trial conflicts. If we can steal those two, and win two out of the rest five.
Excuse me. I don't know who's George Karl. With today's win, the Rox will be in the playoffs even JVG be replaced by me. ah JVG can lead the Rox to the second round or further, I believe.
It's not the 02-03 Rockets! Let's see, in the Playoffs before M.Jackson 126 Games (109 Starts) 29.7mpg 9.4ppg 3.8rpg 7.1apg 1.02spg J.Jackson 25 Games 22.4mpg 9.2 ppg 3.1rpg 1.3apg A.Griffin 19 Games (3 Starts) 9.9mpg 3ppg 2.8rpg S.Padgett 16 Games 9.9mpg 3.1ppg 2.5rpg C.Weatherspoon 15 Games 18.8mpg 6.2ppg 4.1rpg K.Cato 12 Games 8.4mpg 2.7ppg 1.6rpg C.Mobley 4 Games (4 Starts) 23.5mpg 7ppg 2.8apg E.Piatkowski 3 Games 12.7mpg 5.3ppg Full of Playoffs experience!
wow.. it is still shocking as to how little experience we have from our CORE players. i really believe we will give Minnesota a run for their money (if we play them 1st round). In half court games where scores are low and we can pound it in to Yao game in and game out, we will be tough to beat.
On a side note, I don't feel any competition this year like I did last year from Utah. The more I look at Houston, Dallas, Memphis, Denver, Utah and Portland's schedule, the more it looks like we're an absolute lock for 7th. We're very close to Dallas and Memphis, but their schedules are MUCH easier than ours. Even though Dallas finishes with 10 of 18 on the road, I can't see us finishing with 2 more games from here on. Memphis' schedule is a piece of cake. Denver, Utah and Portland will battle it out for 8th, but none of them are in a position to threaten us regardless of schedule, but still, their schedules are some of the more harsh ones to finish off the season. No way they catch us. It's not that I'm not happy to make the playoffs, there's just no rivalry. But I'm sure there will be tons of that come playoff time.
I really don't think it's a long shot. Top five teams are losing to some beatable team like Sacramento, Dallas, Minnesota and LA. That will be awesome to be in the 4 spots!
Mathematically, we could be the #1 seed in the west. Doesn't mean the Kings are worried about us catching them.
So scary! Being in 7th place, the Rox actually has the chance to beat (or should I say a repeat) the top four teams in the league to win the championship! Minny in 1st round, Spurs in 2nd, Sacto in the Conference Finals, and then Indiana for the big trophy!
