Why prepare for the tough matchup with Mavs come playoffs time?

    I still think Nuggets are going to win the # 1 seed because they are the youngest and deepest playoffs team.

    No one wants to play Lakers and Clippers in the playoffs. It is possible to matchup with Mavs come playoffs time. There is a chance to play Mavs in the first round playoffs.

    5 reasons Mavs will be scary in the playoffs.

    1. Mavs have 11.7 million TE and GS 2020 2nd round pick. They are 14 million below the tax line; This is equal to a new player.

    2. Mavs can trade Hardaway or Lee expiring contract for an overpaid player.

    3. Mavs have a much better Head Coach. Mavs will be over-achieved come playoffs time;

    4. Mavs reserves are elite. Delon Wright can do everything and JJ Barea shoot 55% from the three.

    5. Luka is 20 years old, and plays 26 games @ 32 minutes a game.Harden is 30 years old, play 31 games @ 38 minutes a game. There is no real iron man in the nba.

    way too many games left to worry about this, especially with the lakers falling back to the rest of the pack. any match up is going to be tough.

    Mavs will be scary but not now. Need better players around Luka and KP, need more defense and rebounding. KP needs to take a step as well to become a legit #2 option for a championship team.

    That being said, Rockets aren’t scary either. Neither teams have a chance to win a ring IMO.

    Bucks, Clips and Lakers are the real contenders.

    The Mavs are the best offensive team in the league by far. They'd badly expose the Rockets' defense in a Playoffs series and force the Rockets plenty of scrubs to actually make their wide open 3s which they won't in that high-pressure moment.

    I only agree that Mavs are a surprise, I had them at No. 7. I also thought the Blazers would be better.

    Well, at least the unexpected happened.

    In a 7 games series, I'd take the Rockets.. BUT, the lack of controllable discipline of this team would make it highly competitive and tense... I could see Dallas, thoroughly, whipping our asses throughout the series, but us stealing a couple games.. Even the home games!
