This is why social and political commentary comedy doesn't age well. Further generations just don't understand it. Personally, I find most of the 1970's SNL crass, forced and over the top, almost like the comedians and audience are desperate for some real laughs to offset the angry and chaotic undercurrent of the 70's. The mid-late 80's SNL I can still 'get' but I'm past it so I find it boring. Physical slapstick style humor is forever. I still crack up at the Three Stooges or Tom & Jerry.
I dunno about this anymore I think Dave really broke that mentality and Alot of the stuff he did on SNL was stuff I did not think he could do again Rocket River "Ya b*stard!!!" - Gumby
Since Eddie Murphy is now the new American Dad I want to see him do a sitcom, something similar to the Cosby show. The murphy show would be great!!
I saw this and it was great to see Eddie bring back the old skits. Buckwheat was my favorite with Mr. Robinson's neighbor a close second.
