I agree completely, in fact, I believe he'll win a few defensive player of the year awards. Was just pointing out that his style is nothing like Peja and Dirk's, that's all.

However, no team can win a championship with Kirilenko as their 2nd star. If he's a third star, he can DEFINITELY do it, but a second star, I dunno. He still needs time to work on his size and get stronger.

E"freaking"xactly. I swear, if some scrub suddenly has a career high, he is immediately someone we need to trade Steve Francis for. It's like "did you see the game by Pepe Sanchez, he had 6 assists in 10 minutes of play. We should trade them Steve Francis. I'm changing my sig to Steve for Pepe."

Edit* Before anyone even tries it, I'm not talking about Kirelenko or similar all stars.

As oppposed to the people who only come out and say "YOU SEE" when Steve has his inevitable one-good-game-out-of-30?

Not taking sides here, just saying that people need to get along.

Kirilenko didn't have ONE good game, in fact his last game wasn't even his best. In fact, I believe there have been many threads on Kirilenko around here, this is definitely not a first.

But it's a valid topic. How could we, if possible, get Kirilenko? Chime in. if you don't like it, I think it's more appropriate to start your very own "bbs posters only want the person with the last best game" thread, and debate it over there.

First of all, I've never posted a "you see" thread after Francis has a good game. Infact, I haven't started a thread here in a long time. 2nd, if you read what you quoted, I distinctly say that I'm not talking about Kirilenko. I'm continuing what ima started by saying that people demand we trade for every player who has a good game against us. Also, there weren't any "you see, Francis is a good player" threads after the Clippers game.

My bad, I didn't personally go and look through all threads to see if you had any "you see" threads.

I quoted you, but was reffering to the general crowd that come into every trade thread just to make their comments about how they don't like it. The less you reply to these threads, the less they'll last.

Can anyone REALLY see Steive playing in Salk Lake City? The only way this works is if it's a 3-Way trade. Otherwise, Stevie will pull another Vancouver debacle on the Jazz.

You are making things up about me. Don't just say things with out the facts to back it up. I never said Kirilenko is a shooter like Peja or Dirk, I just said he is going to be the next Peja or Dirk as in the next european star.

    Precisely.

Now, Steve to Charlotte for the #1 overall pick, should Charlotte get that pick....hmn, yes. Not that I would give up the #1 pick for Kirilenko, nor would the Jazz.

Could you imagine a 3-way trade that lands some unfortunate sucker in Salt Lake City? Nothing against SLC (ahem), I'm sure the mountain views are lovely (as opposed to the Houston views of the freeways), but the brothers....just....don't....want....to play there.

Except maybe Jason Terry. I wouldn't be surprised if the j*zz send one of those draft picks they've accumulated to the Hawks in exchange for the PG/SG.

Jerry Sloan has little interest in Francis. He just sent an athletic scorer (Stevenson) to ORL for a fundamentally sound team-oriented player (Giricek).

The Jazz are going to have an interesting summer. They will have to leave one of Kirilenko, Harpring, Borchardt or Pavlovic unprotected to CHAR. If it's Borchardt and he's taken, they will then have to renounce or re-sign Ostertag quickly since he hits their cap at 300% until they do. IOW, they won't have really big cap $ until they handle Tag.

Sorry, but this is incorrect. Borchardt anmd Collins will most likely be unprotected. Ostertag does not hit the Jazz salary cap 300%. He hits the Jazz salary cap for 150% of this season's salary. (Just under $13 million). Assuming (and it's a certainty) that the Jazz renounce their rights to Gugliotta. The Jazz will still have plenty of cap room for free agents, and once they deal with Ostertag they will have even more room.

First, what part of my statement "Kirilenko, Harpring, Borchardt or Pavlovic" is giving you so much difficulty in reading correctly? Secondly, the Jazz are only required to place one player on the CHAR unprotected AND since list Jarron Collins is a FA this summer, your "Borchardt and Collins" is absolutely incorrect. Hate to tell you but "Borchardt or Pavlovic" is light years more correct that "Borchardt and Collins" since Collins is not even part of the expansion draft.

I'll give you the minor point about Ostertag @ 150%...I forgot he wasn't coming off of a rooke scale contract and the Jazz are paying him $8.7m. :D

After Gugliotta, the Jazz will have to decide (like I said) on Ostertag since he and Collins are both FA's and the Jazz have no other bigs. UTA is at $24.6m as long as both Ostertag and Collins are hitting the cap.

The Jazz have will eventually have serious cap space but so will ATL and DEN while both PHX and SA have enough for 1 big FA signing. It's not like UTA has a corner on the market...while $30m is alot of FA $, 8 players minimum (9 if CHAR takes Borchardt) will need to be signed beyond AK, Harp, & Pavlovic.

OK...outta here...all this Jazz talk is making me nauseous....

I thought you were supposed to be the local CBA expert. I guess not. First Collins is a restricted free agent. As this is his third year in the league and the CBA provides restricted free agent status to all veteran free agents who have been in the league 3 or fewer years(that entered the league after 98-99). Provided they are not first round choices that teams didn't exercise their 4th year option. The Jazz have 6 players under contract. (Kirilenko, Harpring, Lopez, Pavlovic, Bell and Borchardt.) The Jazz have 4 restricted free agents (Giricek, Collins, Arroyo and Williams). The Jazz can only protect 8 players. Therefore they have to expose 2 players to the expansion draft. Hence my statement of Collins and Borchardt.

If you need me to explain how the expansion draft works I'll be happy to do it.

Yao + AK47 would play perfect defenses, which should be JVG' dream, also mine.
It's like a myth to getting AK Rockets? I'd trade anyone excluding Yao for him. But what if Utah say they would never trade AK?
