I think a lot of our problems come from the arrogance of having lived too long at the top of the food chain, so I'm on Team Leviathan.

 

Batman Jones, mostly because I've met him real life.

We went to kindergarten together and I threw a rock at him when he made eyes at the girl I liked.

I think we need more trade/signing rumors overheard while at the mall threads. Love that kind of stuff.

 

I actually took a year of German in college and somehow--miraculously--managed to pass the foreign language requirement for my MA. However, I now only remember a few phrases:

The blackboard is green.
How are you?
Excuse me please.
What's up?
You are a potatohead.

So, based on my rudimentary knowledge of the language, I think he's saying, "I can't believe I have to talk in this screwed up language. Why couldn't I have been born Japanese or something?"

 

Real men will always go with beef stew, but you should do chicken noodle.

 

There is an adrenaline rush when the call comes, but you quickly learn to manage that and focus on the job ahead. The joy comes after a successful incident is done and you look around at everyone and there's this sense of relief and disbelief. You look at each other, smile, and think, "Damn, how did we pull that off?" The answer is always training, learning from experience and failure, managing stress appropriately, and teamwork.
