I'm pretty sure it's one of thise Barry Bonds situations where the player owns the rights to their name and can't be included in a game without their seperate permission. MJ was like this in the 90's and I know Kareem isn't in my NBA 2k3 game.
While this thread is up.... Do created players ratings rise at all when playing in Franchise mode? Also do normal player ratings rise automatically, or doe they only rise depending on how well a player goes during a season. For instance is L.James more likley to rise quicker if he's scoring 30 a game then if he was scoring 15.
I would hope so, I remember by NBA CourtSide2 Featuring Kobe Bryant on N64 had it where your created player's rating either rose or fell depending on his quality of play.
you can edit the players skills in season mode, i don't know about single game but season mode you just go to roster and then go to edit player and then just make whatever player as good as you want.
It might just be my players, but I have yet to see a created player rise more than 3 points overall. As for season play, they usually go up regardless if they're touted that highly, but if they play a little better, there's a margin of about 5 overall points there too. AK usually hits 87 or so, but I once got him to 89 overall. I think they weren't able to license Barkley, Dream, and MJ for the game so they aren't in there. Not completely sure though.
I dont think you can edit players in franchise mode though. Thats fair enough too. It would be great if the ratings would rise though.
no the ratings change is stupid and basically predetermined, then need to do it like madden where its based on what you actually did, but i could average a triple double with an 64 rated free agent and he would still be that rating at the end of the season, or i could average 13, 4,3 with lebron for 5 seasons straight and he will still become a 97 at least.
I have a few questions myself if anyone can help....I unlocked the Midwest Division retro jerseys but it seems the Rockets don't have one, does anyone know? Also, how do you do alley hoops, I been playing it for awhile and still haven't figure it out. If anyone knows, thanks. Peace.
For some strange reason, the Rockets only have a retro ROAD jersey. It looks pretty cool though. You have to be the visiting team to play with it.
Thanks RC, I'll check it out....Is it their red/gold jerseys or the pinstripes from last season...thanks...any ideas on how to do alley hoops?
It is their red/gold jerseys. I only played a few games with them, but they looked pretty nice IIRC. I think you have to hold shoot and pass (square and X for me) to do an alley oop when someone is going to the hoop. It won't always work, and I haven't had it work that much for me much in my franchise, but then again I don't have my dunk sliders very high. In my 24/7 mode, Yao Ming and myself alley oop to each other like crazy. Real fun to do against players 5-6 inches shorter than us.
Thanks RC. Sweeeeet, The Red jerseys, even better...I will try it out...I noticed Matt Bullard is a free agent in the game, i thought he retired a while ago...I think I am going to pick him up later... Peace.
The Retro Rockets jersey looks awesome. I would love to see the team use that one again. I started a franchise season with a greated Power Forward at a 75 rating. I hoped he would rise with good performances. An MVP, ROY and DPY later....and he still have a 75 rating going into the third season. I started over again and this times used an 85 rating (On a much higher dificulty level!) and the 85 ratings atleast allows created players a chnace of playing in the allstar game. Just on the franchise Im playing now... The Lakers traded Kobe to the Kings for Chris Webber and have lost just three games (28 games season and through to WC Semi's) in the entire season so far. My starting five is LeBron, T Mac, Created SF, K-Mart and Yao.
