So basically, screw you for messing up our deals with China and oh btw, you had time to win the game anyway, even though we should have awarded those 2 points.
Well this is trash. They were all yelling to review. I hate the NBA, but I continue to watch. What a trash league..
Good. Hopefully this L reminds them next time they stop playing with a whole quarter to go. I'm sure the "discipline" is essentially nothing, though, knowing Adam Silver.
Not surprised at all, these protests never happen. What is also not a surprise is that Ben Dubose is all over that, he is the twitter whiner extraordinaire when it comes to anything and everything officiating.
I really did not expect anything positive to happen. I don't care that much. I've been living with missed calls since I've been watching the NBA. But the way they worded this is frustrating. Basically Silver is saying - we screwed up by blowing the call, then screwed up again by not granting you the replay, BUT - yall should have just won the game at some point. Kind of lulz.
@The Cat 's post cut off the part where the ruling said "Oh yeah and next time you want to 'Stand with Hong Kong' remember this day Daryl Morey."
Let's all just remember what happened here. Rockets scored a point and the league refused to grant the point. I have no doubt if the the majority of media didn't hate the Rockets, and they didn't run with the narrative that this was no big deal, Rockets would have played the 7:50 over.
Instead most of the media is dunking on the Rockets and laughing at them for this. It's really remarkable.
No other team has ever been this hated in the NBA. There isn't even a level of respect. it's all hate.
Fair ruling. NBA agreed they screwed up, disciplined the refs, and will take steps to avoid something like this happening in the future. The Rockets don’t get a pass for blowing a lead they should have been able to hold on to in any case. The Spurs get to enjoy their win, up until the point they realize that their season is going nowhere and every close win just worsens their lottery odds.
I agree. The vast majority of NBA media actively dislikes the Rockets. They don't like Tilman, they hate Morey and they hate Harden. It's not even a "we hate you because we ain't you" hate, it's a true, feel it in my bones hatred.
