Hey, see you caught my post before i edited it. I wasn't saying your French is bad. I just couldn't tell if you were being sarcastic or not. I didn't want to post about it and then seem like a total gullible b****. SOrry. I didn't want to look like a fool if you were being sarcastic.... anyways, this thread totally got hijacked. I can't even remember who started it....
I took 3 years of french, because I failed out of the 3rd year of spanish my sophomore year. well all I remmember is Je vais frappe tois avec mon grand baton. Freestyling through a language class is the easiest. Never opened up the book and or took notes. Just asked the smart girl to break down the chapter in 5 mins, and she did it , thus gauranteeing my B-
On another message board that I frequent there's a poster named ISiddiqui. I wonder if you guys are related...
back ontopic.... Ill tell ya...if there was a way to change monikers...I would have done it LONG ago. I was told once that my posts didnt stand out because it was kinda generic and had the "2000" in it that so many added about that time. Thats why I like that Im better know as R2K these days...at least it sounds snappier than the full thing. and on adeel's point...I have never made a secret of my real name..it is in my email address...adn when I met a bunch of fellow CC.netters at gettogethers...I give em my name first..and then my moniker. over all...as long as you have something other than just a bunch of random letters and numbers like so many we see around here these days...it isnt that bad. anyone else have trouble remembering who is who among the posters that use random letters in their monikers? they just confuse me..
my moniker isnt nessicarily random letters, but still it is quite lame. my mind has vastly matured in comparison with yesteryear, and this tasteless rubish of a name should die along with my boyhood.
I changed mine... I asked Clutch nicely, and made a contribution too. It's not like there's a price, but if you've been around for a while, and he has time, and you show your appreciation, he might do it. There are several of us who've changed. I used to be GBRocksFan. Which was crap. Now, my moniker is what most of my friends call me, which happens to be my surname.
adeel = fair, just (from justice), equal, balanced It's Arabic, and I believe it's one of Allah's many names. It's actually pronounced A-del, but when used in other languages/dialects, the way it's pronounced is changed. A good example would be Talib Kweli which should actually be pronounced Taa-leb. It means student btw. Siddiqui is actually a very common name around the Arab Gulf region, in fact I know 3 families with that family name, 2 of which have no relation whatsoever. Siddiq means trustworthy, so the Siddiqui family (originally) would be one that's trustworthy. adeelsidduiqi, You never knew all this?
Oh, for you guys who "studied" french, you'll actually learn much more from watching french TV with english subtitiles. Specifically sitcoms, so you can learnt eh everyday language rather than the dictionary stuff. That's where I learned my Franch - but that came after 13 years of worthless French classes. Well, nto completely worthless, but they didn't help me speak French fluently.
I'd kill to have mine changed. I lurked since the lockout year, but signed up when an old boss of mine decided it'd be best for his writers to go spam certain websites under their own names. Nice. EIght months later, I signed up again, and lost the _ between my two names. Even smarter.
Yeah, I don't care for my name too much. I just put in my cat's name when I signed up, not thinking about it. The all caps is becasue the cpu I was on at work had caps lock on, because my boss was too stupid to use the shift key. Oh well.
i signed up when Rudy T. was about to get the axe. At the time i didn't think i would become that involved with the board. So i just entered a username i've used to log into just about everything for the last five years so i'd remember it.
Not a whole lot of French-languange shows on television around here. Occassionally, I get a French-languange news program on the weird international channel.
Once a fatty, always a fatty. This has been a variation on my name for 8 years, so I see no need to recreate something. My friends all call me "poopy" now, however..... Seriously.
