Have inside info. that channel 2 sports anchor Chris Wraggie has accepted a new job in NY and will be leaving Houston. FYI-His town home is for sale ($400k).
I don't watch News 2 Houston Sports, but hope he got a good upgrade. They can have him, we got Clemens and Pettite.
Aww he was a good guy, would like for him to stay. Least I don't watch sports on the local news so much that I really care.
This was in the Chronicle two days ago... Craig Roberts was the bomb. The originator of Sports Sunday can never be replaced!
Who cares? Craig Roberts was cool on the radio too. I only watched Fox 26 sports anyways. What's the deal with the promotion? They want sports guys to be pretty boys or something? He was on the NBA on NBC as well. Must have good relationships with some higher ups.
His wife was pretty much a mainstay in first class on Continental flights to NYC, so this will prob be easier for her as well. And damn she is hot.
I saw Wragge one time at a Subway off of Kirby. This was a few years back when he was still new in town, as I only really recognized him by his Channel 2 ID badge. He was before me in line and was asking for wheat bread, when the workers talking in Spanish talked about how the wheat bread was old. Wragge apparently knew a little Spanish himself and called out the workers about the bread. What a guy! Well, that was my Chris Wragge story. I still can't believe he is married to Victoria Silvstedt. She is nice.
Good luck to him.. I think he wasn't received that well especially at first because he was replacing somewhat of a legend who apparently was forced out.. I loved sports sunday with craig
outlaw.. doesn't seem like a good way to make yourself popular does it.. people always have a lot higher expectations when you are replacing someone that has been there a long time... i for one was not happy when roberts was replaced with wrage.
well i wish someone would replace Steve Wasserman the Gm of KPRC . Firing Roberts, delaying Conan, pre-empting prime-time programming for Billy Graham or "Dateline Houston", putting roofing company advertisements on severe weather alerts... I think most Houstonians felt a bond with Roberts during the Rocket titles since he hosted those championship game post-shows. Since most of us couldn't be at the Summit watching them win live, seeing him report from there was the next best thing.
oulaw.. yeah I definitely had that bond with roberts. at first I figured he must have retired.. i was surprised to find out they replaced him.. is wasserman that guy who will have pretaped segments at the end of the news sometimes on random things? I want to pull out a tape of rockets champ years and watch good ole roberts reporting live from lockerroom!
