just listening to 610, they said horry can become a free agent and might take less money to be close to his family in houston.

this would definitely change the whole draft status. but if webber goes to the east, getting him and trying to move up to get rodney white might be a good idea...but must keep his health concerns in mind...also paul gasol must be kept in mind...

What would you say to a Frontline of:
    Collier - Webber[or MOTAY] - Horry
Tall , Rangy on the shot. Not exactly the
fleetest crew but I'd take it.

Horry was at once one of my favorite players. However, he plays best when he is alongside a dominant center. That is what we dont have.

If he would take less than I would gladly take him. I dont see that happening.

I would rather have Horry than Shandon. He would be more effective against the taller 3's like Shawn Marion and he fits Rudy's system of spotting up outside the arc and nailing the 3. While the thought of bringing him back doesn't exactly make me do cartwheels I do think he would be a good adition.

Maybe I'm wrong, but didn't Rudy and Horry end in bad terms?

I'll take Horry over anybody on the team except for Cat/Wink.

I think Horry was mostly sour over being traded, rather than having any specific problems with Rudy.

It's a natural response-- here he is, a part of two World Championship teams, a young up-and-comer, and he gets traded. I can understand the unhappiness.

Horry's better than Mo Taylor, Dream, Moochie, and Kenny Thomas? I didn't even think the most biased of Laker fans would go that far...

well, horry is very inconsistent, but is almost guaranteed to hit a big shot when it counts. Also, did you guys see his awesome defense on Duncan in game 2?

But how much are we willing to pay for him?
I thought we are already tight on money in trying to get Webber.

I doubt Horry is willing to take the $1 Mil. Although he wants to be close to his girl, I would also think that he wants more money so that he can do all that he can for his girl.

I wouldn't mind having him on this team, I don't think he is an answer, but I think he can contribute.

Dream will not be back and I don't think Mo will either. And yes Horry is better than Kenny Thomas.

Are you just going to ignore the 4th player The Cat's mentioned?

    ------------------
"Empire" had the better ending. I mean, Luke gets his hand cut off, finds out Vader's his father, Han gets frozen and taken away by Boba Fett. It ends on such a down note. I mean, that's what life is, a series of down endings. All "Jedi" had was a bunch of Muppets.

Actually, I think KT is a good deal better than Horry, but that's beside the point. Might want to say that though when you post stuff like that-- cause until possible further moves, Dream and Mo are both on this roster and team...

If we replaced Shandon with Horry, I'd be extremely disappointed. I see no value in bringing Horry back to this team.

He had some good years with Houston before, but that was THEN, on a totally different team, with a younger Horry. He may bring back fond memories, but come on now, he's averaged around 6 points, 2 ast. and 4 rebounds in 20 mins per game for a few seasons now. He's playing behind RICK FOX. It's not like he's an upgrade over what we have now at the 3, or even at the 4. And he's not a great defender either. He's had his moments, but it's not like he's a Theo Ratliff or a Doug Chritie.

The ONLY reason I could see us bringing him back is to add some nostalgia. Other than that, he's no better than what we have right now. And he's just horribly inconsistent as well. If we could get him as a 3rd option off the bench for the minimum, maybe he'd be worth the roster spot, but right now I'll go with Shandon and Walt over Horry.

I'll take Horry only if he used to play the 3. Offensively he is not that good as a 4. He should be used to guard the opposing teams best player though. A lineup of Hakeem, Webber, Horry, Cat and Francis would DESTROY!

I would take Horry if he can be acquired via sign and trade once he opts out. I wouldnt want the Rockets to commit any extra cap space to him, but if the Lakers are willing to take Cato or Williams in a sign and trade, then I'd go for it.

A 6-10 forward than can play both forward spots, shoot from the outside, has long arms and can run the floor with the guards is a good add to this team. He would be a better fit than Walt Williams.

-I guess there's a slim chance the Lakers would do the deal for Cato. I like that idea as well if they go for it. Williams, IMO, has no trade value. A SF who shoots under 40 % from the field and plays no defense is not a commodity.

-I think Horry may play for less in Houston. I doubt he'd play for $1 MIL, but if we could get him at $3 MIL a year or so, he'd be a solid pickup. He's better than Maurice Taylor when you take into account the new rules.

    Get Cato out of there...

Getting Horry doesnt mean we still cant draft a good small forward like paul gasol or RJ. gasol would be a project and wouldnt play 35 mins but he will get enogh minutes since horry can play both positions. our lineup next year:

    webber/KThomas
    Horry/ Paul gasol or RJ
    ken johnson/collier/cato
    cat/walt
    francis/moochie

we would be lacking at center, but will have enough height to get the boards and push. not a bad team!! now if only hakeem could be in there!!!! hey it could happen dude!!
