Economist - How Data Transformed the NBA (feat. the Rockets)

    In 2016, I heard about Sports Vu motion tracking technology. I was looking for it again and realized the Economist put out this little glimpse into the Rockets analytical framework. I think most people know it, but I thought it was cool. I originally saw a TED talk about one of Sports Vu's competitor, which turned out to be the Second Spectrum CEO featured in the Economist vid. Both are below.

    I think it's been posted before but still a good watch. I also think Second Spectrum replaced SportVu a couple of years ago for providing the NBA it's tracking tech, but I could be mistaken.

    Thanks, good to know. I'm trying to learn more about the algo behind it now so I'll start focusing more on Second Spec.
