The resources are there, but it would be wrong to blame the Astros for Cole leaving or Crane for cheaping out. Him and family do not want to be in the city . you have to accept that.

I really wanted Trout to win a title with the Stros. That's the worst part if he chooses the Angels over the Dodgers.

True. I totally understand this may just end up who offers the most money.

But Amy's brother plays for the Giants, and if I'm picking a better run organizations in California, the Giants are much higher than the Angels or Padres.

Only difference between So Cal (SD & LA) and No Cal (SF) is who offer more money to Cole.

Bring Cole in to pitch 2-3 innings tonight. He'll have the whole offseason to rest up.

    How would Trout accomplish that?

I heard cranes offer is topped out at 4/160. Semi reliable. That’s obviously not going to win.

Don’t really care what the reason actually is. We don’t have the money to match anything LA offers him.

Even if it was just about the location... who cares? He doesn’t have to want to move Houston. He did a lot for us, and I’m extremely happy that he was with us the past few years. Hope he gets that big paycheck and goes where he wants.

Sure, we all knew that. It just seems odd that the Angels would spend $700+ million on two players, that doesn't even guarantee playoffs for them.

Strasburg is a west coast guy too. Maybe the Angels sign both Cole and Strasburg. Then they’d actually be contenders.

Cole is fantastic but managing the risks and upside of a complete roster, while staying within a budget, makes signing ANY player to a $30mm/year contract a bad idea. Remember, we have Jose Luis Hernandez Urquidy, el Orgullo de Mazatlan, ready to win 20 games for us and get paid no more than 5 million PESOS a year.

No matter what, Jeff Luhnow did well in trading for Cole. It was great 2 years we had him and he created great memories for us. Now he can go to the Angels and be their next Albert Pujols.

Can confirm: people from Cali hate Texas, never mind that you can’t afford to live there unless you’re wealthy and can live very comfortably in a very friendly, happy place on a fraction of the income.
