Sample size is small but its at least a positive initial trend rather than a negative initial trend.

Even if teams adjust to this and back way off of Westbrook, I think he can make just enough shots from the outside to make them pay. It's not like a Ben Simmons situation.

They can try but with our PnR and dribble hand offs you gotta trail, go under. or switch.

if they do back way off WB, then he can pick Harden's defender and hand off to Harden or attack depending on how close his defender goes back out

Also leads league in points off drives.

    Reading is fundamental.

    re: Ben Simmons questions

Did defenses not back off WB at OKC? <-- rhetorical question

The question isn't will defenses back off WB like they often did to him at OKC, rather, how much does Harden's gravity allow WB to take a pass and attack like Moute, Rivers, House and Gordon do ... but at the HOF level that he is. Cheating off an off-ball WB to shade to JH is some of what we are talking about. And, indeed, WB's drive efficiency is trending up since Paul George joined him, as an indication of what to expect.

WB drives is also a high-trap Buster for Harden.

The Drive data in this thread isn't exclusively from ISO or PnR. But off-ball as well.

Further, Harden's gravity to pull a defender out 30' without the ball is a real thing. WB has gone 4on4 against that. Check out how many times WB drives under Harden's man, as if they dude isn't even in the play...because he isn't. Off the top of my head, I can name 4 times that's happened for WB, and several more times for Gordon.

We did this for Paul, too. WB's ISO or PnR vs 4on4 defense (with JH and his defender way above the arc) is a real thing to watch.

Do you think WB will complain about Harden taking too many threes and Harden just staying behind the arc when he doesn't have the ball.

That sounds like a debate you're having with someone.

As an aside: I've seen Doncic show bad body language watching Porzingis launch 3s like a black hole. Doncic is not shy about slumping his shoulders and shaking his head. But, he's only 21 yrs old, so maybe his petulant posturing towards Porzingis won't persist.

hehe I just feel WB is the biggest benefactor with Harden and his teammates constantly remaining as three point threats and out behind the arc for the most part
