Alright, I've been waiting to get a PS2 until I finished the last two games on my PS1. Problem is I don't play that often, so the games I've been trying to finish are still only half way done. Anyhoo, I woke up from a nap a couple of weeks ago, and bumped into the PS1, causing it to fall on the floor. When I picked it up, I noticed the little thing that spins the disk in the middle had broken. Soooo, I've decided to break down and get the PS2...... Unless someone knows where to buy the little doohickey I broke. So far I've checked ebay, and Yahoo. I'm just trying to find the best deal. BTW, I bid and won an auction that said it was for 50 refurbished consoles for $510 bucks, but I'm beginning to feel it was a pig in a poke, since I haven't heard anything yet from that particular seller. So, who's got the advice?
not sure how cheap your looking for, but gamestop sells used playstation 2's for $139.99. Best Buy has new PS2's for $170
I wouldn't buy a used PS2 if I were you. Not a good thing to buy used. You can find nice bundles, like I think Circuit City had one a week ago, and Target. Where they had 2 controllers and a game...for $179.
I'm willing to spend $1-200 on it, but I feel I should be able to find just the system for 100 bucks, and I'm willing to spend more if it comes with extras. And nobody knows if they sell those little doohickeys?
Yeah? Well nevermind then. I say not used, because I have had mine for a couple of years, and you can tell that I have been using it. The drawer makes funny noise etc. The main reason I said that, is that there are MANY different versions. The older versions don't support all DVD's, mine is an older one and it had problems on a couple of my movies. It would freez. Ofcourse, it is better to not watch DVD's on your PS2. Also, newer versions can make it more difficult to install modchips (different chips for different versions), that only matters if you are planning on getting one. Anyways, good luck.
again... why not xbox??? the backwards compatibility is nice, and i'm really itching to play rise to honor, but xbox has ninja gaiden and sudeki coming out.
XBOX sux. Not enough games, horrible controllers, not enough imports. My recommendation would be to try and get an moded import, those might cause you a little extra but they're definitely worth it.
haha okay... well get that jet li game when you get the ps2 and then tell me if it's good. if it's good then i'll buy a ps2 too.
That Jet Li game made me want to cry. SO AMAZINGLY BAD. I gave up after 5 minutes of trying to play the demo. The reviews I've seen have been bad for it as well. Don't waste your time.
really?? hahahahaha... the commercials for it is so cool! there was a mini review in maxim or playboy one of those... and it said it was good too... that's where i get all my game reviews... not really that hardcore... should probably read more game magazine.
Oh God. Like the cool commercials with guns and violence? Check. Uses Maxim and Playboy positive reviews? Check. Pimps the XBOX? Check. Yeah, I'd say youre not that hardcore. ...yeah, I was thinking about checking out Rise to Honor too....
haven't played it but from what it looks like it's 3rd person style is kind of like max payne 2, which was awesome. i'm so horrible at moving two sticks at once, which is why i'm bad at halo but luckily in MP2 you had that bullet time thing. if the bond game doesn't then it will take me forever to beat.
