Using Baseball Savant for the series: Houston pitchers got 18 pitches outside zone called a strike. Houston pitchers got 11 pitches inside zone called a ball. So +7 in favor of Houston when Houston is pitching. Washington pitchers got 14 pitches outside zone called a strike. Washington pitchers got 25 pitches inside zone called a ball. So +11 in favor of Houston when Washington is pitching. 18 net calls in Astros favor. I'd be pissed if I was a Nats fan. I'd guess about 5-6 of the differential is on Nats catchers for not presenting (or framing) pitches in the zone well. Too much movement by Nats catchers. If your mitt hits the ground, ump is going to call it low even if it crosses the plate above the knee. If a pitcher misses his spot, you can't stab at a should be called strike and let inertia take mitt wildly out of the zone.

Don’t underestimate the power of cortisone’s effect on inflammation. If his spasms are due to inflammation he could be damn near 100% Wednesday so let’s just finish it Tuesday and make sure he has a good winter rest
Guys ,we need to tone it down. Everyone is acting like we won already. Remember, verlander has been terrible the 1st inning. He might give up 4 runs and the game is over before the astros even bat.
