From ESPN rox message board: "Yao has the longest active free throws made streak in the NBA, that is amazing. Not only is it not owned by a player like Peja or Nash, it is a 7-6 center who owns it. That is purly amazing"
vs Portland 3/4 missed the third. 1 vs Sonics 10/10 +10 vs Laker 7/7 + 7 vs Timber 9/9 + 9 vs Marv 3/3 +3 =======================30 straight and NOT end yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11111
It's only for active players. Here is the all-time NBA record. Most consecutive free throws made 97-Micheal Williams, Minnesota, March 24-November 9, 1993
Not trying to jinx Yao, but 97 is very unlikely, but 30 in a row is amazing, let along for a guy his size! Go Yao, Go Rocks!!! -G'day-
Doesn't really matter if the streak breaks, what this tells us is that teams can't hack Yao because he'll make them pay. I wonder how a well-rested Yao would play. The guy amazes me.
1. Michael Williams 97 from 3/24/93 to 11/9/93 (2 seasons) 2. Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf 81 from 3/15/93 to 11/16/93 (2 seasons) 3. Calvin Murphy 78 from 12/27/80 to 2/28/81 (1 season)
Correct me if I'm wrong, but it probably means the longest CURRENT streak of any player. Surely a couple of active players have hit 30 or more in a row at some point in their careers -- Reggie Miller or Steven Nash maybe?
