1. Clippers are legit - there's really no way around it, they might actually be better without PG on offense since they have to give him a certain amount of shots. Defensively, there's really no way you can score on those monsters. Also offensively, they have size and guys who actually make their threes. 2. Warriors will struggle - plenty have predicted and it seems to be so. The doubts about Curry's ability to carry a team will be interesting to see. 3. Rockets will be fine - we have to figure out how to play both stars together, but have the role players and talent to be good enough to potentially be top 4 in the West. Definitely not a lock though.
They will struggle to do what? Win a title..win 50 games..make the playoffs? Don't forget that Klay is bound to come back near the ASG and that the one and only game you have watched them play was against the no.1 favourite for the title this year.
? none of those are hot takes a hot take would be saying the Clippers are overrated, GS will be a top WC team, or what Cowturd said about the Rockets missing the playoffs
These are reasonable takes. Hot takes would be: - Zion's injury has nothing to do with the combination of his freaky athleticism and huge weight. - Westbrook is an elite shooter - China is being perfectly reasonable towards the NBA
I think they can make the playoffs as 7th or 8th seed. I expected it from the beginning and pretty sure they expect it themselves as well to be around there, maybe miss as the 9th seed. Struggle with their circumstances, to me would be hit the high lottery.
No hot takes are warranted. Wait a week, a month until after Christmas. (~30 games/36.5% of the season)
I bet Klay doesn't play this year. His injury isn't one you can quickly come back from. I suspect he won't be playable until March, and if he's still not 100% back (or near enough) for the playoffs, why even bother bringing him in to that type of situation? Especially after signing him to a long term deal; and especially after rushing KD back during the playoffs earned them a ton of criticism. Anyway, to be clear, I am not at all a medical person with actual medical training. But that is what I bet will happen.
Hot take: The last decade of NBA basketball, especially in the West, is arguably the most competitive era of basketball in NBA history. All while, the NBA'S western conference has been competitive conference in professional American team sports, still holding a good amount of perennial powerhouse teams. 1993 - 2019
Fultz will be starting for the Orlando Magic before the end of November and will be their franchise guy in the future.
Trae Young ends up top 5 in MVP voting. Ok, what I really wanted to say was Trae Young makes the Allstar game, but honestly, that isn't too much of a hot take after the games he had. How about Trae makes Allstar game & Hawks make playoffs.
Not a hot take. But the Sacramento Kings really do not look good right now. Walton isn't getting that team to get after it like Joerger did.
