    It was Finley tonight.

Ray, Vince, Kobe, and Cat have either been victims or have called out him directly as a dirty player.

    Your thoughts?

If I were to call a player dirty I would mean that the certain player pulls cheap shots when he knows the refs aren't watching with the intent of hurting the other player, or just tries to physically injure another player when given the opportunity.

Was John Stockton dirty? When setting picks, did he try and elbow the other team to get an advantage for himself or to injure other players?

I believe that the word "crafty" will be used for Stockton, as he was trying to get an advantage over his opponent with those elbows, forearms and knees.

Bowen, from the games that I have seen him play, especially in person, tries to physically intimidate his opponent with his tactics. His goal is also to gain an advantage over his opponent by this intimidation. I would not call him a dirty player, as I do not believe that he is out there just to hurt his opponent any chance that he can.

He, like Artest, is a very aggressive defensive player that gets away with a lot more than others do because of his rep. But if you think about the players that are the best defenders in the league that play the perimeter ... (a younger) Payton, Artest, Bowen, Posey ... those guys got their rep by playing aggressively. Not a lot of other names surface in my mind about tough perimeter defenders. And all of those that do come to my mind are considered or were considered dirty, with the exception of Posey, whose defensive rep comes more from quick hands and playing passing lanes.

Yes. I don't know what he did to Finley, but his reputation precedes him. I would not miss him if he pulled a J. Williams, and I'm curious what all the "Spurs are classiest organization" fans have to say about him.

If I was a player, I'd watch tapes of Karl Malone and practice on Bowen.

Well, he's going to continue until someone comes up and gives him a taste of his own medicine.
Even if it results in suspension.

As far as the Spurs go.....yeah....it sure is real boring having the MVP winner for the past two seasons......yawn.......

Some people can say that those players are just crying "sour grapes" because they did not play well against Bowen. Personally until tonight I hadn't see Bowen against those players but I DID see his cheap shot on Finley and have concluded that the above players must be right on. After a while, where there is smoke there is fire.

Bowen is a dirty player. And it is happening THIS SEASON. No one complained last year. Clearly he is trying to take his game up another level now that they dont have Robinson back there to defend the post and the only way for Bowen to do that is be overly physical. It is one thing to be physical and another to be dirty. Bowen is playing dirty, plain and simple.

Just say the replay on Sportscenter and thought it was pretty obvious it was dirty. Finley should have given him a Charlie Murphy front kick to the chest.

I hate the Mavs! They are such cry babies. SA did to them what the Mavs do to us. SA played physical, clean basketball.

Classy? The 'organization' which tanked a season to (try, and scucceed) get TD?

Bowen? He's tough and good, and welcome on my team. He plays smart, as does Artest, which is why guys like BB and RA get calls.

He can be dirty, but so can most players be at some point. Bowen is under control and therefore 'this side of dirty'.

That shows Bowen clearly kicking that guy....he did not even try to get his foot out of the way.

In the old days of the NBA someone would just deck him.

    Probably Calvin Murphy.

NBA teams should keep goons on the bench with the sole purpose of kicking guys like Bruce Bowen's a**. Someone just to go in and throw elbows run him over in transition and just generally wear him down, it would need to someone built like Big Ben so if Bowen got tired of it and tried to fight back he would definately pay for it.

Some spurs fans on other boards are saying that the replay on sportcenter in not complete and that Finley threw the first elbow while running down the floor. Didn't get to see the game, so i don't know how true that is.

Dirty or not, that jumpkick on Wally makes me smile.:p
