Free outdoor(even covered) courts are plentiful. We usually played at the UH outdoor courts(They might not be free, but I'm pretty sure they are...there's not really any regulation of them anyway), because the best competition was there.

Indoor courts are never free, but I remember going to one recreation center that was as close to free as an indoor court gets. It was something like $10 a month and $3 a visit. Either way, it's not a bad deal. We also played at the UH indoor courts, because we had gym memberships there(Registered for summer session and didn't enroll in any classes). Gym memberships were like $20 a month, I believe. It would probably only be worth it if you also planned on working out in the university facilities.

Also, I never tried it in Houston, but my friends and I always play at churches around here. Some of them charge a few $, but nothing big. We try to avoid going to the same church too often, as they probably wouldn't like non-members showing up more than members.

And...what's the deal with Fonde? I remember going there for the Rockets basketball camp(Yes...a week with the Murph, ) years ago, and I know for a fact that the courts were open to the public for a small fee back then. It'd be a shame if that good of a facility weren't available to all.

Yeah, outdoor courts are not that hard to find though the rims are mostly torn down where I was. I supposed some HS have open gyms, but I thought you meant free.

You can ball at Fonde if you have game. A lot of game...

Where, exactly, is the court at Waugh and Memorial? I have never seen one there. There are three streets in between Washington and Memorial that turn into Waugh...which is why I ask.

It's down the hill behind this place. Not easily visible from the road, if I remember right.

There was actually a pretty fun 4-on-4 pick-up game out there today with me and subtomic, two other musicians who aren't on the ClutchBBS, and some locals. Generally, we play at 12 because two of the guys have band practice at around 2:30PM.

The way I dunked on everyone looked unorthodoxed.

Actually, just about everything I did (excluding imaginary dunks) looked unorthodoxed.

It might be worth working something out for another time, but it would probably have to be on a different day than Saturday in that case, and maybe a different place. Quite possibly a different planet.

I'll play a game sometime. I leave inner city.

I'm not very good, (not in good shape), but I defend well

I prefer to play against smokers - they're usually in bad physical condition and won't rip me to shreds.
