So speaking of Boki, Padget and Pike... good thing that none of them saw any action in tonight's game otherwise we wouldn't be getting this very important win against the best team in the league. Is it because the team is in Texas and Les does not want to alienate racist fans like dconover, but his imposed quota of a minimum of two white stiffs on the roster at all the times has really damaged the team's chances of succcess. To think that we should have had Poz in the place of Pisskowski and Tayshawn Prince or Kareem Rush instead of that girl Nachbar makes me really mad...
Way to stereotype all Texans. Before you call anyone racist, look at yourself in the mirror. It's crap posts like this that make people lose interest in this BBS.
He's a racist because all three white players he likes are white? Let me ask the question again: Did I miss something here?
dude...seriously. stop this crap. this IS why people give up on the board. btw, i think Padgett is a great spark off the bench. when his shot it "on" it injects a great energy into the team.
I think that when one starts a thread saying that he would like to see more of the three worst players on the roster that all just happen to be white, it just speaks for itself. Why would anyone want to see more of Padget, Boki and Pike? Spoon has won a few crucial games for us already. Boki and Pike are "supposed" to be offensive players, yet their "O" is probably worse than A.Griff not to mention hustle and defense. These ae things that are absolutely obvious to everyone watching Rockets games this season. I can think of only one reason one would like to see more of these players.
Kayman, That is just stupid !!! I would like to see more of those three players because arguably they are three of the best team players on the Rockets. Padgett is a good solid shooter and TEAM player as is Pike and Boki slashes to the hole better than anyone else. Who cares about the color of their skin....that is just silly. Kayman has lost his marbles....anyone seen them rolling around on the floor????? DD
This is so wrong. Throwing around accusations of racism and KKK membership is insulting and serious. Accusations of racism based on liking white basketball players is demeaning to all those who truly do suffer from racism. It's wrong of you to do this, Kayman. It brings the whole board down. You should apologize.
Irony. One of the most racist things you can do is call someone else a racist without cause or provocation. Why would you want to see more of the 3 players mentioned? Boki - He's essentially an athletic rookie (this is basically his rookie season, since he didn't get to play last year). Everybody likes to see a rookie get a chance to prove himself, even it's only in garbage time. Pike - He's an excellent career 3 point shooter that just happens to be going through a shooting slump. The best way to break out a shooting slump is to be given the opportunity to shoot. If you feel like permanently benching someone for shooting poorly, then Jim Jackson would have been buried in the bench in the first half of the season and Steve Francis should be buried in the bench now. Personally, I'd recommend letting them all play through it. Padgett - This guy has been an excellent roleplayer in the few games he's played. He rebounds well and can hit the open shot. His shooting range also helps spread the floor and open up low post room for Yao to operate. Nobody is calling any of these guys 6th men. But make them 9th, 10th, and 11th men and give them garbage time minutes every now and then. The same goes for A. Griffin too.
Look folks, you can talk all you want about energy, team play, and stuff like this, but only thing I care about is whether players help my favorite team win ball games and those three don't. The fact that none of them played yesterday and we got arguably our biggest win of the season is a fact, but there's more: 1. All three guys suck on defence big time. 2. Pisskowski and Snackbar are supposed to be offensive players, yet they shoot 37% and 35% respectively. 3. Padget is a bit better, but how can you argue for taking time away from Spoon, who has come big in the crunch in several games. This bbs has been tough (with good reason) on players like Moochie, and at times Cato and Taylor, not to mention Steve and Cat. I think white players get unjustified favorable treatment here. Obviously there are great white players in the NBA. For one reason or other the Rockets have not been able to land a white star. If they did, I would be the first to support him. My beef is that the team consistently reserves at least 2 spots among 9th and 12th for white stiffs ever since Les bought the team. If you look at the roster over the last 12 years, you'll see that white guys are overrepresented at the end of the rotation. This is because Les wants to cater to fans like dconover, when we could have had decent players instead (J. Posey, T. Prince, Kareem Rush) who could have helped us win ball games.
I saw Padgett played in college, and he is really good. Pike sucks, and can't do anything right on the court. How much Rockets is paying him?
Sure, it'd be nice if these chumps could play, but with the game on the line I'd much, much rather have Weatherspoon in there. Padgett has come through several times, and I'm not down on him, but Spoon has been better, in my opinion. Boki has shown me jack, but if he can bust his a$$ in practice and earn some minutes, more power to him. Pike doesn't look good out there. If JVG wants to give these guys a shot now and again, cool. If not, we know why.
