One thing that amazes me most about Yao, is the way he deals with interviews. I mean he's only 23 and he talks like a veteran coach.

.. and when he thinks the question is sensitive, he follows up with a joke or answers it with a funny comment.

... and his age excuses him from offensive jokes like the thing he said on comm stern's height and JVG's hair problem. :)

I know who Greg anthony is and it wasn't him. I'm talking about the other black guy on the set besides Steven A Smith. I think this guy was not a former player.

Well, one strong argument one can make is to look at the stats. Let's take a look at how Yao fares against the best big men (Shaq, TD, KG) after his breakout game against Minny at home.

    Rockets Minny 2:0
    Rockets Lakers 1:1
    Rockets Spurts 0:2

Two of the three wins are blowouts. All three losses we have a chance to win in the 4th, or even within the last two minutes.

And here's Yao's number in these 6 games:

    26 ppg, 8.8 rpg, 58.5% from the field (62-106)

Spectacular number for a second year player in the league.

Yao's main problem is consistency. Also the 3rd tier centers playing him dirty + opposing 4 cheating on Cato do not help. But I guess that Yao is making progress dealing with DT, and the refs are gonna call more fouls in favor of Yao since he has earned some respect from the refs in the league. If we can solve the problem at 4 and get another outstanding shooter (not necessarily trading SF3), Yao can more much more efficient.

The NBA Shootaround cast is host Kevin Frasier and then analysts, Steven A. Smith, Greg Anthony, and Bill Laimbeer. That's it. The only other guy that is black besides Smith and Anthony is the host Kevin Fraiser. Perhaps that is who you were talking about.

As far as rebound is concerned, Cato and Spoon steal way too many from Yao. Some people like KG, Ben Wallace are just too aggressive, very unsportsmanlike. Shame on them!

The T-Puppies did double and even triple team Yao every now and then. The difference in this game was that when Yao passed out Taylor, Jackson and the other Rox were hitting outside shots forcing the T-Pups to rotate out.

That name sounds familiar. Since you seem to know more than I do on this topic, I'll go with Kevin Frasier.

Sorry FM510 I beg to disagree! Yao Ming is refused when flashing many times a game. He is ready to receive but the Guards have other ideas on their mind. If he isnt passed the ball he can want till hell freezes over, he just wont get enough touches to be MVP. This will only change when we have a Point Guard with the mind set of a playmaker.

Ironically, it was started by fatman's statement

    "Wait...you arern't bashing anyone???? wow...

in seriousness: Yao can only play as well as he wants...there is no ceiling for him. If he is agressive every game and shoots 15-17 shots every game Yao is an MVP candidate simple as that. It has nothing to do with the guards not involving him, it has everything to do with Yao's desire to be the greatest player the NBA has ever seen."
