I recall the days when many of you wanted to trade Yao for Odom etc. Well, Yao's stock is at its highest and this can be the time to move him.

How does Odom, Butler and draft pick sound for Yao, cap filler?

the only player i would even consider at this point for yao is KG and i would want KG+ someone else KG is like 27 and still has many great years ahead, but yao at 23 can literally dominate for the next 10 years which is just downright scary

what, so trade Yao and SF3 can use his "franchise" license plate??? :D

the first time you make a mistake, it's all right. after 5 years you still make the same mistake, shame on you. that should be sent to CD and the whole organization.

cheers.

If we traded Yao and kept SF and Cat, I'd probably stop watching professional basketball.

I know that sounds overly dramatic, but the last 5 or 6 years of Rocketball have been slightly painful. Add in the fact that Yao's style of play is a dying art...bringing in another 1-on1 "me" player would be disastrous.

Yao's stock will continue to rise. Wait till the refs are on his side, he continues to get stronger, and he can actually rest in the offseason. This is just the beginning.

Lets see....
The potential of Yao for Lamar "I can't get enough weed since I'm injured all the time and vastly overrated" Odom + Caron "What happened to me now" Butler + pretty much no one since this year's draft isn't as strong = HELL NO!

Should the Spurs trade Duncan because his stock is high? Should Minnesota trade Garnett?
For that matter, shouldn't the Rockets have traded Hakeem back in 1986 when his stock was soaring? Or imagine what the Bulls could have gotten for Jordan in the mid-'80s. Why not trade every good young player as soon as he starts to have success in the league?
I vote for lock this thread.

hika, people only wanted to trade Yao for Odom before he was drafted.....hell, even before someone posted that awesome clips of him before draft day to convince everyone he is the real deal. Once he got drafted, and after that 30 point drilling of Bradley, it was over.......so why start this thread a year and a half later? to say i told u so or something? what, did u think he would be dropping 30 on Shaq in a year? people wanted to get most out a #1 pick before he was drafted. It was reasonable. It isnt anymore, and no one talks about it....so really just pointless to bring it up......

Wow, I am amazed by the blindness of all these YOFs. We can offer SF/CAt/Yao/JVG/Les/Power dancers together for KG and MN would not listen.

as one of the token ROTO FOOLS on this board, I must say to the person that started this thread - please pay the $17 next year and get yourself a fantasy basketball team - then you can draft all the rockets and trade them all season long (to your heart's desire) - you make us all look bad when you say stupid things like this

anyone who uses the statement "trade while their value is high" clearly belongs in the rhelm of the roto hack (since that is how you win in fantasy sports) - of course next year, you can get Yao back and then start all over in roto leagues - but NOT in the NBA

forgive this lost soul - he is lost... I suggest immidiate therapy at games.espn.com or CBSsportline.com

I think Shaq+Luke or Fisher for Yao (with max. contract in place) would be a good trade for Yao-only fans, Lakers Fans, and some Rox fans. Unlike Yao, Shaq will make SF's vision improved and take Rox to playoffs for the next 3 yrs. Yao's ego would fit in with Lakers' dream team nicely and he should win a couple rings with a great coach/system. Offcourt $$$ would also go through the roof.
