It's too bad that SI just laid off hundreds so that they could be replaced by cheaper talent. I won't support them again. SI is solely a name now with no value behind the work.
Real good article. Good stuff from PJ on that Game 5 loss last year. One of the worst Rockets losses in recent memory. Still inexcusable.
They gave the employees no heads up. They were recently sold and were promised job security in the transition. It's not fair to lay off hundreds of tenured writers on no notice.
Everyone knows and has known print is dead including the print writers. No way they were shocked as you say. That said, it's happened to me personally and many thousands of others so it's a part of life. Trust me, I've been laid off twice after mergers & acquisitions, always found myself in a better situation after the initial shock.
The website is being overhauled into a click bait factory but they kept a few writers for the magazine.
Some lazy photography there, guess they fired the professional crews haha. Black board laying on top of saggy black cloth hanging from background, sheesh, could have easily made into a clean shot with black seamless paper background with 2x strip softboxes and a fog machine. And if they're gonna do black background, needed more back lighting to separate the subject from the background, noob crew at work there.
I liked the article, but can do without the prediction. Guess we blow the ole SI Jinx outta the water this year.
“Every year the average team inches closer to Houston’s shot profile......” Soooooooooooo many posters need to continue to eat crow on this issue. Some have been calling Morey “uneducated” on this topic for what seems like a decade lol
I’ve noticed Westbrook already has a better connection with capela and the teammates. I think at this point in Chris Paul’s and Westbrook careers I think WB has the better ability to pass and create opportunities just because he’s much more of a threat at scoring. I mean WB driving into the paint can cause so many opportunities just because he’s an amazing finisher at the rim due to his skill and athleticism where Chris Paul’s size and age stopped him from being the nimble scorer he use to be but even then CP3 had many issues scoring like a bigger guard such as Westbrook. As capela stated Chris Paul was a guy who needed a screen where WB can create from pretty much any situation. Tbh WB with an even somewhat consistent three pointer is a pretty scary thought
