I'll take Marvin Harrison on both counts.

As a Cowboys fan this is great. The 49ers continue their pattern of sucktitude and the Iggles don't get a top 3 receiver (along with Moss and Harrison). I was really worried about Owens going to the Iggles, outside of Moss he is the toughest receiver for a defense to deal with (I think Harrison is a better team guy but physically he just ins't the problem of Moss and Owens).

If I were the Iggles I'd have gone for Owens and a big DT like the one the Raiders got over a pass rush specialist with an injury history. Phily's biggest problems are run defense and explosive skill position people--so far they have not addressed them (Owen's was really the only true skill player out there that makes opponents change schemes) and may lose their one real strength after McNabb, their secondary. They may lose Emmons too, their best defensive player not in their secondary. Sure would like the Dawkins leave soon (I think he is under contract though)--that guy is an underrated beast (yes I know he is a multiple pro-bowler--but I am not sure if he isn't the best DB in the league period).

Garcia and Owens gone, for basically nothing?

Maybe I should try out for the team, make a little pocket money for holding a clipboard. :p

Sadly, in this son of a York's winter of discount, a little pocket money might be pricing yourself out of a job.

Owens is the best reciever in the game. Harrison is a close second. Moss is a distant third.

If Moss could go over the middle like the other 2, I think he'd be a lot more valuable. Moss is just a little more spectacular than the other two, so he is overrated a bit.

Back to the thread topic, what a steal for the Ravens. If you went back to the year Owens was drafted based on today, he would be a top 3 pick if not number 1.

Hey, it will be cheaper to sign that 51st pick than the 33rd.

That was a garbage rumor that wasn't going to happen.

here's some funny articles about what went down from a whiny eagles perspective:

Just shows how badly TO had burnt the bridges in SF, kinda similar to the Pippen situation. Love how they send TO and his clueless agent to work out a contract with the team he wants, while they milk other teams to get the best offer available. :D

And Philly's offer may have been just Thrash and a 5th rounder, what a crock.

Here are the "bit overrated" Moss' stats for the last few years Vs. Owens

Moss: G GS No Yds. Avg. Lg. TD 20+ 40+
    2002 16 16 106 1347 12.7 60 7 19 6
    2003 16 16 111 1632 14.7 72 17 27 6

Owens G GS No Yds. Avg. Lg. TD 20+ 40+
    2002 14 14 100 1300 13.0 76 13 17 5
    2003 15 15 80 1102 13.8 75 9 15 4

Looking at the stats for the last couple years, Moss catches more passes, gets more yards, and has more TD's. I dont see how Owens is better. I forgot about Harrison who I would rather have than either based on attitude.

I've been hearing rumors now about Moss to Oakland for Woodson with Picks involved. I cannot remember a time like this with so many studs being shopped around.

The Ravens got a steal with a capital S. TO for a 2nd round pick and a low-low signing bonus. I bet the Raven fans can hardly believe it. Guess it proves the ultimate genius of personel guru and former Alabama tight end Ozzie Newsome, who will likely become Alabama's next athletic director if they ever develop enough sense to give Mal Moore the heave-ho.

Looks like the possible trade to the Eagles was true after all. TO is pissed because he had renegotiated his contract with the Eagles. The 49ers traded him to the Ravens at the last minute because they were offering much more for him.

TO is now trying to file a grievance with the 49ers. I understand why he would be pissed but it seems like there is noting he can do about it.

SF also smartly wanted TO to go to the AFC.

I wasn't referring to stats. I was going solely based on the on-field talent and performance I have seen. Thats why I said if Moss could go over the middle more and more willingly he'd easily be the best reciever, possibly of all time. I'd really like to see some stats for that (going over the middle).

Looks like the Iggles will lose Carlos Emmons to the Giants and the Boys are looking close at Taylor and Staley.

IMO the Iggles have not addressed their key problems, adding an explosive WR and toughing up the middle of the defense. I do admit everyone else is a little lucky SF decided to screw Phily. But Kerse is not going to help the interior toughness on defense and Emmons was their best run defender, so I like what is happening there. I also think Taylor and Vincent's contributions both on pass defense and run defense were underestimated, I'll be glad to see them go.

Taylor and Duce are no longer great players, but they sure gave the Boys hell a lot of times. But that is past history so I won't hold them any grudges if they change their evil ways and join the Boys. I just hope it isn't like Jackie Smith where his whole career he was screwing the Boys-- one way (playing for the Cardinals) or the other (playing for the Boys and dropping that pass against the Steelers).

Owens is a me-first cancer who was no more productive than Darrel Jackson last year. Owens may be an elite wide receiver, but the league produces many players with stats that could approach an over 30 Owens sans the attitude and cap hit.

There' still a chance, there's still a chance baby. T.O. is pissed he got traded to Baltimore and plans to file a grievance to get to Philly. I know it's a slim chance but some how I hope this gets done and Owens becomes an Eagle.

Players under contract don't get a right to be traded to the team of their choice or a right to be traded at all. Fat chance with TO's appeal.

What a brat TO is, too bad he didn't get sent to the Chargers where he can spend the rest of his career on a sucky team his punk ass attitude deserves.

I'm not counting my chickens before they're hatched but it looks like the Eagles will end up with Owens. Please, please let this happen! Eagles-49ers Deal On the Tables
