    Wait until next off-season when Tad brown announces Morey is leaving the Rockets for personal reasons... It's usually how these things play out.

    That was part of a kneejerk reaction/rumor before Silver was instructed from upon high. By looking at how events have unfolded, it should be pretty obvious to most, that Morey will not be fired or "resign." Quite the opposite, in fact....The world's his oyster.

    Firing Morey would be dumb, because he's an awesome GM. Yes he made a mistake. How long lasting or big this mistake ends up, that remains to be seen.

    If Morey is fired it would be because the Rockets fail to win a championship next couple of years and the team becomes old and mediocre as Harden and Westbrook take up all the capspace and no longer good.

    If he stays any longer than that, he will be fired whenever the Rockets gets the next superstar and when that superstar tries to get his signature shoe deal, gets asked by Nike to get Morey fired or his deal go from $150mil to $50mil.

    I hope he survives but let’s see if he is still here a year from now. Losing the kind of money Tilman is going to lose is hard to swallow. Firing Morey now would cause a backlash.
