Um, unless you plan to tell me that Shaq didn't stick his foot out, which was shown on replay and which EVEN all the ESPN crew agreed, it was kick.

That was a broken play. Steve mishandled the ball on the pick, so the best play he could get was a shot from Yao.

Um, it could either be one of two calls:
    1) it was a kickball OR
    2) if it wasn't intentional, Shaq basically kneed Steve, a foul, which would be his 6th
You take the pick on which one the Lakers would prefer. Fact of the matter is, the Rockets got neither call. They got screwed, plain and simple.

Let me just say... quit dreaming. It would take Yao + Steve + Mo/Cato to get it done (even with the exception).

First of all, it won't work salary wise. Secondly, Yao counts 5 mil against the cap.

He had plenty of oops in the alley as well.

Because he can't shoot and can't play defense.

I think STeve played well last night, seriously.

    Less turnovers
    No forced shots
    More assists

Once again the Rockets have managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. I now approach Friday night's game at Minnesota with deep feeling of dread. Rockets could get smoked in a hurry as Minn is on a roll.

I think DaDakota pretty much nailed it. The team lost their poise and their focus....ONCE AGAIN. Clearly Yao was rolling tonight but late in the game they couldn't get him the ball. It seemed the one time they did he did a pump fake got a Shaq foul and made 2 FTs. Why couldn't they go to the well once again?

Tough loss. The Rockets played well for most of the game but in the 4th they started shooting poorly and the Lakers made shots they were missing earlier. Tough break.

What is really sad is that if the Rockets put out THIS EFFORT each night they wouldn't be losing to teams like Seatle and such. The Effort was great, just the late game execution wasn't there....again.

I have said this over and over and over again. This team will rise and fall on Yao. Everything revolves around Yao. For this team to get to the next level they have to 1) recognize Yao is the man and keep getting him the ball, even late and in the 4th and 2) Yao has to play more consistantly and aggressively throughout each game. It is obvious that Yao ups his level of intensity each time he faces Shaq. He plays his best games. But yet against crappy competition he kind of just goes through the motions. We need that aggressive tone EVERY night, even against the other stiff centers.

    Effort and Consistancy.....every night!

Yes, Yao needs last night stats repeatly to convince JVG and guards: He is # 1 option espcially at critical time. When MJ was in the court, The offence was so smooth, nobody needed to try so hard to get shots. I do'nt understand why steve and Mobley have energy to dribble so hard at every possision, Why they can use their energy wisely?

Ouch, this loss really stung, I guess because I saw it coming thru out the 4th.

I’m just really afraid, that this could result in a 5 game losing streak going into next week. :(

Yao won't say that to the management because SF DID give him help during his first season. It's obvious Yao don't like SF as PG. Yao has showed his admiration that Marv. has Nash.

This loss should be handed to SF. If your max player cant put the ball down the pipe than, you should expect a loss. :(

AP's Notes on the loss (Quoted from Yahoo)

Maurice Taylor is second in the NBA to Sacramento's Bobby Jackson in scoring average for players without a start this season. Taylor is averaging 11.3 points per game. ... Francis went 9-for-11 the last time the Rockets played the Lakers on Feb. 11. He's having an off year shooting, hitting 29.5 percent from the field and 16 percent of his 3-point shots. ... The Lakers are 9-6 in the first game and 7-8 in the second game of back to backs this season. ... Bryant has missed 15 games this season because of injuries and courtappearances.

SF must be mad when he read this. He is having an off year, but not that bad.:p

I went to my broker to collect my winnings, sir. I did not want to rub it in you either. So I stayed away from this board.
