Obvious choice is Clippers. What do you guys think they'd ask for? Two picks and Cato? ------------------
Would you trade Eddie Griffin or Eddy Curry for two of our picks and Kelvin Cato? I wouldn't. I don't think the Clippers would move down. ------------------ Charles Barkely on the Raptors defeating the Knicks in Round 1 :"I think it was the Lord. The Lord was with the Raptors. You know the Knicks like to talk so much about religion, but I think the Lord was a Raptor fan."
And if the Clippers do move down, the logical choice is Boston, who can offer them two lotto picks. And maybe even Antoine Walker, though that seems a bit far-fetched. I thnk the talent level at the top of the draft is such that it would be a cast-iron b**** trying to trade up into it, and we probably end up over paying. ------------------ Charles Barkely on the Raptors defeating the Knicks in Round 1 :"I think it was the Lord. If oeilpere's KVH trade doesn't work would you trade the #13 + #22 for the Kandi man? ------------------ women love me, fish fear me.
i was just thinking about maybe Cato the 13th, 18th and 22cd for Kandi-man and their pick. wow! Hakeem/Kandi-man/Collier Mo-tay/KT E Griffin/Walt/Bullard Cat/Colsen Francis/Moochie OH YEAH!!! ------------------ In Tina, Janeth, Amaya and Amanda, i still believe! Mr. 4play has spoken.
Let me get this straight: We have Olowokandi AND Mo Taylor?? Who's next, Eric Piatkowski? Cherokee Parks?? Anyone see where we are going?? We are becomming the CLIPPERS!!!!! Maybe I've gone to far.... ------------------ http://titansmania.50megs.com
Kandi and Mo get along like younger versions of Tyrone Hill and Charles Oakley. Or, hell, like ANYONE and Charles Oakley. I don't think they would be on the same team. ------------------
I agree with you Puedlfor, The Rockets should try and move up but at a fair price and if it can't be done then they should just keep their picks and select wisely. In Rudy & Co we Trust! ------------------ take it one day at a time
As far as trading down: Strong Maybe: Chicago. Vancouver. New Jersey. Weak Maybe: Atlanta. Washington will not keep its pick in the long run; but I think they'll draft then move for a star player. ------------------
I would trade 5 first round picks for griffin. He's just that good. You know what you are getting. I think it would be stupid to draft someone European or a someone who doesn't have a complete game like Jefferson. ------------------
I think if the opportunity arises and a deal is there at a fair price, CD and Rudy won't hesitate to do it....however I think this draft is deep enough talent-wise where they can stay put and still get an impact player. I'm holding out for Jefferson, if it proves to be to difficult to move up into the top 7 (to draft Battier) ------------------ "She's what I call a pitching wedge. She looks good from about 150 yards away" -Pete Sampras when asked about Barbara Streisand
It's my belief that do you what it takes to get the player you want. The future for the Rockets is now. In one of the next two years we are likely to use our cap space to fill one of our two weaknesses. That leaves one weakness in the starting five. If you go and get that player in the draft you suddenly have your starting five for the next five years. Worst case scenario is you have players coming in off the bench like Moochie and Walt Williams. I can live with that if I have a great starting five. It's my opinion that we sell the farm to get the player we want the most. Even if it means giving up draft picks in future years. Naturally we need to get into the top seven to make it worth the effort. I would certainly be willing to work a deal to move up. If we draft a Center then we have the option of going after Webber or Carter. If we draft Battier then we need to nail down Webber at all costs. This is the year that makes or breaks us. I'll be real interested to see what goes down. I don't see any reason to stand pat this year. The draft is deep enough for movement in both directions. Teams will be willing to move. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Wizards move down once or twice, but at the same time, the fans in Washington will want to draft the best player in Eddie Griffin. If you don't draft the number one player then the fans get a little upset. And the NBA is a business. So I think the Wizards may just use that number one pick. ------------------ humble, but hungry.
Trading for Kandi means we're guaranteed either Webber or Davis. Kandi/Mo doesn't work. I'd trade Cato/#22 for Kandi. ------------------ "That's been a lifelong dream of mine." -Vince Carter, after laying it in on a breakaway, much to the Vancouver crowd's displeasure.
I know you guys arent going to like this but I have heard Washington is intersted in moving the pick. Do you think there would be a chance that a sign and trade involving Olajuwon? I really dont want Hakeem to leave I am just trying throw out a possibility. I would like to have us trade 2 picks and Cato to get top 3 idk if I would do that for the 4th pick. ------------------ ~John~ Help keep the obsessed thread alive post the reasons why you are an obsessed Rockets fan by clicking here
Kandi? UGH.....why even ask? Cato and Kandi switching places is a wash. One underachieving, overpaid center for another....why would we throw picks in too? ------------------ My doctor says I am bipolar. I am going to get a second opinion. I have never had intimate desires for polar bears.
I would not be shocked at all if Washington traded down a few spots. If Jordan, Barkley, Ewing, etc are going to be on that team next year, then they may be in the market for a SF that contribute immediately. Shane Battier fits that bill. ------------------ Check out the Best Source for Draft Info Draftsource.net
I would only think about getting Kandi if we could rid of Cato.Kandi's contract is not as long as Cato's and I don't know if a trade could go down because of the numbers. Trading down possibly Grizzles,Nets,Cavs, maybe Chicago. If Chicago trades down they will try to get the two Boston picks and Walker. ------------------
David Aldridge reported toady on the NBA Today that Chicago and the Wizards are looking very hard to move down in the draft. I don't know if thats true or not but I hope CD is on the phone with one of them. ------------------ President of the Steve Francis, Jamal Crawford,Larry Hughes, and Charles Woodson fan club.
How far down are the Bulls willing to trade? Do they still have interest in Cato (hello, Tim Floyd?) Certainly the Bulls have many needs that the #4 pick, by itself, won't satisfy; didn't someone say on this board that they could certainly use Walt as well? (Wishful thinking on my part, but the Bulls might be at that beggars-can't-be-choosers stage. If they offer only Fizer, however, for whatever we offer, forget it.) #4 would nab us Battier. That's who the Wizards are also looking at. ------------------
