She’s already spelled out solicitation. That last tweet was just to clarify what constitutes “anything of value.”



Are ppl really going to critique one tweet at a time, to say, “see, he didn’t accept anything” when solicitation is always part of these laws.

“Well officer, the prostitute didn’t deliver, yet.”
“Well, officer, the drug dealer didn’t give me anything, yet.”
“Well, Ukraine didn’t deliver on my demands, yet, so I did nothing wrong.

Sigh

 

thanks for clarifying so the law says solicit what possible defense would the trumpers have?

what trump said isnt exactly solicitation? no quid quo pro? he was joking?

Trump’s Impeachment Saga Stems From a Political Hit Job Gone Bad

The president's obsession with finding dirt on Biden goes back to Steve Bannon and Clinton Cash.

The short form is that the people behind Clinton Cash tried to reproduce it with a hit piece on Biden, but if fizzled and didn't go mainstream. However it did make the rounds of conservative media, and since the President is a glutton when it comes to conservative media, he swallowed the hoax hook line and sinker.

Therefore, the innuendo and implication hit piece on Biden didn't destroy Biden, rather it is turning back around on the moron it was supposed to help, because he is too senile to separate the propaganda from the little kernels of truth that conservative media feeds him.

Remarkably satisfying outcome, when you stop to appreciate it.

 

They need no defense other than “let the voters decide.” Otherwise, the court of law is the Senate and requires super majority.

Even Watergate didn’t have a super-majority until the very last “smoking gun” tape that swung the final rep senators to give up the position that Nixon didn’t actively do anything. Nixon survived a 8-0 loss in the Supreme Court regarding a subpoena, with no senator movement, until the finally heard the tape.

So when parties are dug in, nothing but a smoking gun is going to swing anything. And I suspect a smoking gun would constitute something like a vocal or written direct quid pro quo from Trump or Gulliani soliciting illegal help.

Well, the other thing could be a backdoor Republican Party decision to make Pence President.

 

The argument actually is that it had nothing to do with the election it was all about corruption.

That is the needle they are trying to thread.

 

I guess that includes China aswell. Apparently they are only after a specific kind of corruption in China. Forget the billions of other instances that China engages in.

 

Guess Trump should have listened to himself when he warns about “Fake News.”
