Pattinson said something. People think THIS might crossover with THAT. They might not have the BALLS to leave it a 1-off.
That's funny, I literally saw that trailer last night as well......it's kind of creepy to say the least.....
Some of the mainstream reviews are trickling in and Oh boy.. I'm legit scared someone is going to turn this into a manifesto. I haven't seen Dan or Roth react this way to a movie, lol. I'm still not interested in watching this sort of movie...
A lot to digest but, yeah wild and not what I expected also, the armed presence in the lobby was a little unsettling
Have a feeling this will be one where the general public's score is high and critics score is low. Pretty much the opposite of the Last Jedi.
At this point the critics will only review you highly if you're a hero movie with cringey humor and a regurgitated feel good story. It's like a comic book movie can only exist within those confines. Watching it tonight.
Logan was a thing. FWIW I didn't like Taxi Driver, and cynical overly bleak movies in general are very rarely something I enjoy. Combine it with my deep seeded hatred of clowns (easily the most clownlike Joker has looked) it's not something I'm interested in.
Then if you dun like Taxi Driver, may you like Baby Driver though? Was cute. Hey, resembling name. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt3890160/
Wow. Just finished watching, and really enjoyed it. Phoenix definitely made the Joker his own. I see no reason whatsoever that he shouldn’t be up for an Oscar. I think JP was brilliant. Not sure I expected much, I had a bit of Joker fatigue. Man, this really stands on its own though. Powerful and disturbing.
That's fair. After dealing with sugary nonsense from the MCU (Logan excluded) I'm ready for hero movies to move in a different direction. Or at least give us options. I just find it a little concerning that Once Upon a Time and Joker have been dragged by critics while being some of the only original big name movies released this year.
If this movie had nothing to do with Batman, how would it be received? Given the climate and what the conversation was, well before people saw it, could it ever get a fair shake? Do people care anymore what "movie critics" have to say? Do people care what the swarms of internet reviewers have to say?
