Wow, almost 9 full minutes of Ryno hitting threes! That's probably as much playing time as he'll see all this season.
Even if all Ryan gives us is what Matt Bullard gave us on that championship team...that is something we need. I am very happy about this.
Exactly his role... fantastic signing to bring AD out of the paint. Teams with 2 bigs always struggled against Ryno.
I want Ryno to have the same confidence he had initially. If you get the ball in your spot, let it fly. Be a star in your role.
I love your optimism, ATW. I'm not expecting a whole lot from the guy, so if he can produce like Bull did, I'll be happy.
Sure, he can play it. Can he play it effectively? Absolutely not. He may even be able to play pf effectively. We'll see. Hoping he can provide some lights out shooting though.
The dude better be more professional about his on court activity... i recall he was passing up some open good looks and being a real bump on a log last time I saw him in a Rockets uni. I liked Ryno a lot. He is a good guy in his own time as far as I know and he can knock shots down when he isn't in a funk. I wish him well and hope he thrives here and has his best year in the NBA with Houston.
He will have some good games and some bad shooting nights. And I think he used to be better on the road? He is now the 10th or 11th guy in a rotation and not expected big minutes against contenders or serious playoff teams. I heard his name, was not really interested in him, he still got something left for sure but with his 20 million out of sight, nothing interesting about him no more. Those are just players who used to be good at shooting but have little skillset otherwise. WHO can surprise you on a minimum deal, no doubt.
I think he can be great in mid to late 3 quarters where rockets are gasping for air , and he can come in maybe when harden is dead tired, while westbrook still is on the floor keeping team afloat, where he can knock down 3's to prevent leads from spoiling. I say no more than 10-15 mins on any given night. I even mix him in at Center if you run small.
