So what you are saying is, you care about where you hoop?

Just give me a ball and a basket and lets go to work.

It's not the size of our practice facility, it's how we use it that matters.

Back in the "old" days they practiced at HBU! They just try to keep the location central so Toyota center was the logical place. The court is the court, it's just the convenience and amenities that will be more important now (weight room/pool/etc...)

TL;DR on all the in-between pages of this thread, but does anyone recall how the general consensus on the West Side Tennis Center facility was that it was a model for all other franchises? Or did I miss a meeting somewhere along the line?

Haven't been able to find an update if he's finalized a location but Tily is working on it

But that was league-standard back then. I’m not saying a team can’t win a championship if they don’t have the best practice facility lol. I’m just comparing what the Rockets have to the rest of the league.

Yeah, that’s exactly it. The fact that the Saints and Pelicans are owned by the same people is an issue. I know Pelicans fans have complained that they seem to care much more about the Saints than the Pelicans. And they even had the Saints GM overseeing basketball operations at the same time lol. I’m familiar with the Pelicans, and they have been dysfunctional. It may be better with the new front office. But up until this year, they were a mess.

Also, the owner being a billionaire doesn’t mean they aren’t small market. The owner isn’t paying players from his own bank account. They’re being paid with money generated from the basketball business. So if you can’t fill the arena and have the cheapest tickets in the league, your franchise is going to have a lot less money to spend on things like a practice facility. The Warriors just built a billion dollar arena. There’s a reason they can do that and the Memphis Grizzlies can’t.

People that work in the business do not have TC as one of the best arenas for sure.

i would agree but have a better facility makes for happier player happy player practice and play harder.

All I want is the practice facility to have the same depth perception, lighting, and whatever to match those of Toyota Center.

Mainly because I remember some claiming TC has a weird factors that make shooting there harder than other courts.

I thought a lot of players lived (or had a house) in Sugar Land.

Typical liberal spin here. Here's how my boy Donnie J would term it: "The Rockets are the BEST TEAM in the NBA at providing a bad practice facility!"

America and the Rockets are number one! If you don't like it, get out!
