It is weird watching something you’ve basically already seen. It’s like they are stealing scenes from classic horror movies and replacing the actors and the killer. Literally, every idea has come from another film. It is completely unoriginal. But, I’ll still watch because I’m a fan of slasher films.
We all know with these AHS seasons, there is a swift turn. A seemingly straightforward season quickly goes off the rails into "WTF am I watching!?" season.
It's literally the only reason I keep watching: gotta see how hilariously crazy and stupid the show gets somewhere around halfway through the season. It's the greatest tv hatewatch I've seen, along with the last 2-3ish seasons of Sons of Anarchy.
Sons of Anarchy, yikes. I actually enjoyed last season of AHS but it's the only season I watched since murder hotel, now that batshit crazy but I loved it.
As seasons go, AHS starts off as a horror show: Protagonists, Mystery, Setting/spooky place, Villain. That's what I mean by "straighfowrard". Straightforward as the horror genre goes. Then things start going crazy... crazier.
I think things have been crazy from the beginning even in the pilot episode the wife was raped by the gimp. Doesn't get more crazy than that.
