I have someone in my family who is homeless and a meth addict, living under a bridge in Fort Worth.

Is there any kind of social service that can go pick him up and take him to a rehab clinic for the help he needs? Has anyone heard of anything?

We're not in a position to go get him ourselves.

Contact your local MHMR in your county.

So I reached out to a friend that does this. Her first questions to me were...Does he want help? Does he have insurance?

She then sent this...”Does he use IV? Also can help someone get into treatment quicker? Also if they have a mental illness coupled with substance abuse they can get into housing/ rehab faster”

And now asking this...”What county? Lots of questions”

    She sent this...

    http://www.mhmrtc.org/

And now this...”Sometimes they have programs call something like PATH that helps homeless with substance abuse obtain housing and treatment. For that the dual diagnosis is needed. So bipolar, schizophrenia, schizoaffective, major depression and substance abuse. One of the diagnosis with substance abuse“.

Prayers are with your friend bro. I would recommend you pursue the program linked above... God Bless man. Letting someone know you care about them is important... reach out and do your best. I hope you can help.

It takes a court order to send someone to treatment or MHMR involuntarily. So...he's got to be ok with all this first.
