I’ve only had 1 movie actually make me cry. I can’t remember if it was a movie or a documentary tbh, but in 6th grade our teacher showed us something about the Little Rock 9. The amount of hate that these kids were receiving because they were black and had the audacity to want to get a better education in an integrated school made me break down. I couldn’t help but think about how that easily could’ve been me receiving all that hate back in the day. I don’t think I’ll ever forget how I felt watching that.

So what about u? What movies have made u cry, tear up a little, or reach for that tissue box?

I tear up at all kinds of stupid ****. Commercials, movies, music, not necessarily at the times you’re supposed to either. I think the last movie was the long shot and it’s a comedy.

Good Will Hunting, Forest Gump are some obvious choices. More recently A Star is Born was pretty sad.

But Star Wars episode 1-3 made me really really sad.

Good question. Honestly, Hollywood does a terrible job of getting any emotion out of me. At least modern Hollywood. Of course, I also avoid dramas and pretty much only watch comedies and Marvel movies at this point, so there's not much there to do it.

Used to watch a lot of TCM, and those movies will often do it. The Best Years of Our Lives is an incredible post-War film about three soldiers coming back to their lives after WWII and the troubles they experience readjusting to civilian life, and I'm sure it's gotten tears out of me at least one of the times I've watched it. It won all the awards in 1947 and for good reason.

Now, if we want to expand beyond Hollywood, I'm sure I've seen many anime films that have gotten to me. Stuff from Hayao Miyazaki, Mamoru Hosoda, and Makoto Shinkai is a safe bet. Grave of the Fireflies, directed by Miyazaki's Studio Ghibli partner, the late Isao Takahata, is supposed to be one of the best and most tear-jerking movies ever made. I have actually not watched it, yet, because I would need to be in the right mood for it, and I never am. But I've also seen it described as "a perfect film," so someday I need to get it off my shelf and do it.

Field of Dreams "Dad, wanna have a catch?"

Saving Private Ryan "Tell me I have been a good man"

Just to name two of a ton of them.

Yeah it's easy to get me. It's gotten worse since I had my first daughter.

I remember I was a mess after Click. But it can happen with any movie or show I get in to. I'm not proud of it but it is what it is.

Movies don't do it for me. Not enough time and emotional investment.

Now video games? Sure, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 made me cry.
